HI there,
Interesting post. I've recently developed a VST Midi plug that I'm testing with Live. And it doesn't work at all :bang:
Auto_moment spoke about "require the usual rerouting/". Can someone tell me a little be more about that, or point me to some resources on that issue ?

Besides, when making VST midi, the convention is to make it a "synth". Does that cause troubles to Live ?
Thanks

ugo's dualism works ..its a neat little arpeggiator , tho it does get stuck on -'still running ' sometimes, when you push stop on the live control bar

I've been using CC-Matrix from s-production.de to do some filtering in Live7. Seems to work well.

Acording to Tobybear, there is trouble with alot of midiplugins in Live,

A list of the most useful ones would be great!

Cheers
I use the midi plug-ins that come with Live and I use GURU for some drum sequencing. I also use the arpeggiators built in a couple softsynths and the one in my Korg Z1 which outputs midi which I record.

And of course, I use session view and a bunch of simple clips I have saved as building blocks for complex rhythms. Kind of like an unlimited step sequencer.

as posted on the frontpage.

Looks like a really excellent midi plugin with some very useful features planned.
Though I cant get it to work in Live6. Probably have to wrap it in something like energyXT.
Key features

* Plugin (VST, AU, LADSPA) or Standalone (both for Windows, Linux, Mac)
* LFO, Envelops,
* Delays,
* Midi tools (filter, remapper, ...)
* Internal and external triggering and re-triggering,
* Automation of most parameters,
* Synchronisable on tempo or on absolute timing,
* Fully controllable polyphonic piano, with automatic pitch bend corrections

Forthcoming releases features

* Midi sequence player module
* Automatisable module bypass
* Customizable envelop modules
* Graphical representation of LFO and envelops
* Multiple triggering

Ableton's midi sounds suck! There are no good string sounds at all. Not to mention they don't even have options for sounds like choir or accordian

Bumped a thread from 2008 just to say that? The topic of this thread was plug-ins that process MIDI messages, not "MIDI sounds".
