I am not sure if I have my settings wrong or if there is a bug in the midi of Energy XT.
I can key in chords but all the knobs and pads are always recognised on the same CC16 ! Am I the only one in that case ? Please Help !

Hi guys ! It's been a while since I am using my Edirol PCR 300 with different DAW and the only one that does not fully support it is Energy XT.
I am not sure if I have my settings wrong or if there is a bug in the midi of Energy XT.
I can key in chords but all the knobs and pads are always recognised on the same CC16 ! Am I the only one in that case ? Please Help !

Think I got it ! My system is Windows 7 / 64 bits. The driver only lets me install 64 bit version of driver. Energy XT being as 32 bits the driver is not working properly. Any ideas on how can I install 32 bit driver on my 64 bit ?
Maybe a 64 bit of Energy XT ?

This would mean that many people would have problems.
No, XT2 is 32 bit and it should just run flawlessly on 64 bit Windows with 64 bit audio drivers.
I do not really understand your problem described in your 1st post. Thus I cannot try to give an answer to it.
Also nowadays you may get more response on the 'more official (?)' support forum for XT2 on:

The driver that comes with my midi controller (Roland Edirol PCR 300) check which version of window your system is.
I have a W7/64bit and Energy is working great. Nevertheless as Energy xt is 32 bit, the driver for my midi controller is 64 bits so not running great on the 32 bit platform of energy xt. Does that makes sens ?
Trying to install both drivers 32 and 64 bit for my midi controller but really dont know how to do that.

I guess I got your 32 bit / 64 bit mess, which I think is no mess at all.
As far as I know, it is only possible to have one driver for one device installed and running at a time. And on 64 bit windows I think all drivers must be 64 bit. So I really do not think that there should be any need to (try to) install a 32 bit version of the audio driver.
XT2 - as many, many other 32 bit applications should just work fine on Windows 7 64 bit.

'Yes, remember the Edirol has 2 MIDI inputs to Sonar (or other DAWs). Input 1 is the keyboard where you can play synths, etc. Input 2 is the control surface - the knobs, sliders, and buttons.'
Thus my guess is that you have to enable this 2nd MIDI Input in XT2 -> File -> Setup -> MIDI.

I think there is a price to pay to use 64 bit driver for midi controller on a 32 bit host.
I generally use 32 bits plug ins with energy xt even though my machine is a 64 bit. Having tried this out it makes plug in stable ! Had no issue since i used 32 bit plug ins for energy xt.

as far as I know it is even a must to use 32 bit plug-ins with 32 bit hosts resp. 64 bit plug-ins with 64 bit hosts (unless you use some kind of 'bridge'). Besides the fact that you can't run 64 bit programs on 32 bit operating systems, it should not have anything to do with the type of operating system (64 vs. 32 bit). At least 64 bit Windows 7 should run nearly all 32 bit applications. Also there should not be a price to be paid when using a 64 bit driver on a 64 bit OS and then running a 32 bit applications using this driver, unless the 64 bit driver itself is buggy.
Concerning your problem: In the meantime I tend to think that it possibly is rather a wrong setting on the controller itself then a problem with the driver, especially because the MIDI for the keyboard function works correct.

Well I am using Reason 6 and it works great.
But moreover I can remember it was working on previous versions of Energy XT.
Just not sure which upgrade I did and suddenly it was buggy. So I thought there was a midi issue/bug with energy and waiting for a new update settling the problem.
I hoped other Edirol-Energy users could let me know if they have the same issue or not. But you've been most helpful and I thank you very much.
My issue at the moment is that Reason 6 is 64 bit and can't rewire anymore with energy xt 32 bit. But this is another story.
