Example 4 shows best tape gives you that analogue feel and simulations just don't. Also, tape can sound much better than those examples. Hers's a link for a good tape representation http://www.gearslutz.com/board/gear-sho ... l-mix.html

So basically there is one plugin hater which is trying to push his business via gearslutz forum. I just lost several minutes of my life by reading childish thread about someone who posted substantially different and louder mixes. When questioned and asked to post more files all we get is "come to my place and hear it by yourself"... Great as usual.

Level match, compare unity gain with overdriven ones. Pretty simple and you can get an idea. There should be other examples on the net, post link if you find any. plugin hater :hihi: what an idea lol It isn't as simple as inserting a plug click-click. Im greatful people go into trouble and share tests like that, however unscientific, still very informative. Come on, I wouldn't rely just on plugin developers' examples which you'll need to level match as well.

Ouch - just discovered that the initial files were accidentally
generated without proper anti-aliasing filters and oversampling.
No wonder they sounded 'digital' :o

The old ones are now replaced by more representative ones.

And yes; if these attempts result in a better tape sim than
good old ferox, it's likely that it will result in a new
plugin
Cool! Will download later. Thanx!

edit: it's rather good and the highs are now much smoother. there's still difference in responce, its more sort of non-linear in tape and that creates sweetness or in some places gives it more punch. I only have small auratones now which won't tell me much about the low end. The high end, though, needs more non-linear responce like roll off some highs as levels change or something like that.

Hi Jereoen, i think your simulations are really close to the originals! :-)

However...i think Revox B is software, Revox A is the hardware, Tascam B is the hardware, Tascam A is the software :)

I am not ungreatful for his example you got that wrong. I think example is not best one (but very nice indeed), i was pointing how OP is being asked to provide more info but because of his (and several other) sterile responses all we got is "my dad is stronger then your" crap..

Btw Jeroen that is some nice tape GUI there. Just beware of using their brands (on tape and device) on final product. Good luck with developing..

Yes, I really like this little plugin. I use it in all my projects. It is very subtle, like you would expect from a true emulation. Cheers, Jack

Yes, I wish he went more in depth on that.
