My call is that they are going to create/open up the reason sdk such that a 3rd party developer can create a "plug-in"/extend Reason.
Or, another way to look at it - is making the "plug-in" like an app, in this case Reason being IOS. The advantage of this system is that it you don't have a moving target.
Even if you think plug in hosting is irrelevant (I got the joke).

Considering the line6 coop on integration there I think this as well. That would be the smartest thing they could do.gckilla wrote:My call is that they are going to create/open up the reason sdk such that a 3rd party developer can create a "plug-in"/extend Reason.

It doesn't upset the apple cart if they put in very good qa like on AppStore and users won't have to search elsewhere for things all in one box.
The expertise props have now with hardware and dongles have been slowly implemented and introduced bit by bit as well which also could makes sense from a plugin devs perspective as a prerequisite of participation.
If props can somehow link ignition key or balance dongles to a plugin registry they have a real platform for others to play on.
Consider the impact on the hosts as well of recent bigwig movement modular nature etc. tick that box for props already.
It's no secret that platform is everything these days.
Interesting times.

if bitwig does not announce by messe then they don't understand how the world worksgpunk wrote:Looks like they have hired Bitwigs marketing department, announcing announcements haha
For some reason I think this thing is nothing more than an axiom pro with a better screen and One motorized fader. Still have not played on but just my superficial impressionsAmused wrote: I wonder if it is something to do with the Nektar Panorama?

no purchase until everything goes to usb 3.0 and all hosts are 64 bit!

Whatever new thing they announce, it appears that I won't be needing it:
On a more serious note, I think the advert that I quoted this big bold slogan from (it's a full page colour advert on the back cover of the current MTM and elsewhere) shows very clearly that the Propellerhead marketing strategy relies rather heavily on hype (or, being less charitable, lies). When somebody constantly talks themselves up quite to the extent Propellerhead do, it becomes difficult to get genuinely excited any more, because you know that there's a very large BS factor involved.
So there it is. Game over. All you need is Balance + Reason Essentials. No need for the full version of Reason 6, any of their commercial refills, not even one of their T-Shirts or Baseball Caps.propellerhead advert for Balance with Reason Essentials wrote:Everything you need to create anything you want.

You can be bold (lie) only if you are the champ, or a contender.

I was involved in the Axiom Pro project when I worked at M-Audio and I've played with a Panorama... Panorama has a lot more going for it than meets the eye. It may have a similar layout to Axiom Pro/MPK/Etc, but under the hood it's a completely different beast.felonytrance wrote:For some reason I think this thing is nothing more than an axiom pro with a better screen and One motorized fader.
