I enjoy your cautionary tales and I like how you write as though you're unaware how crazy you sound. :tu:
Surely there must be consensus by now...

I've been married and divorced to an antique Websters International Dictionary. The honeymoon left me a eunuch. :(
I'm so sorry for your loss but please stay on topic, this is a Studio One appreciation thread.

In my experience, many DAWs sound best when the "Moot" button is pressed.

The explanation of the fact that people consistently say they hear differences when they percieve one daw sounds better than another is may be due to visual preferences. If the daw looks good to you, it simply sounds better than others This interaction between sensemodalities is not something unknown. Vision can effect taste,

so why not the ear? The multiconnectivity of the sensory areas of the brain seem to be consistent with this thesis.

Further: How come people claim to know the difference between analog an digital sound while failing in blind tests? Answer: For the very same reason. "Seeing" the analog synth becomes hearing it as analog.

However, there might be a deeper level of explanation, namely the way such interactions between sense modalities can be mediated by virtue of earth beams

thus enhancing the experience to the lucky ones who lives in these centers of divine light, while the unlucky may be those who consistently deny any percievable difference.

Now think about that :uhuhuh:
