hiya.
I'm basically looking for a new vst synth and i'm wondering what peoples opinions are.
Needs to have good sound, multi osc, nice and resonant filters and a fairly simple ui - I find myself going back to vangaurd time and time again just because the ui is (imo) so good and it's so easy to program, but theres actually a fair bit i dont like about it (the filters and lack of modulation routing options mainly).
I've got albino which i do like for the filters and routing options, and sylenth too which is good but i'm really not a fan of the ui at all. Yes UI does matter (to me).
I think its true that most synths can make most sounds if you're good at programming them and so i'm looking for something with a pretty simple workflow / logical UI.
Oh i also already have synplant which is just amazing (but such a dissapointment when you realise that the gene parameters cant be controlled via midi cc and therefore cant be automated either).

U-he Zebra, once you grasp the semi modular thing which is fairly straight forward it can be as simple or as powerful as you want it to be.

U-he Zebra
Synapse Dune
Those 2 are great for keeping things simple and can go way over into the extremely complex, if wanted.
Zebra can do some fantastic sounds with just 1 oscillator.
Dune is great for being able to easily go through many different kinds of sounds fast while tweaking, and it does some great things with sync on, some ring mod, and fm settings, while adjusting the osc2 semi(tune) that can't be beat.
With it's wave selections you can go through a lot of them to come up with great things fast.

FAW Circle. Everything is so easy and intuitive with that synth. You can drag n drop everything everywhere with a nice and simple gui. You should try the demo.

XILS-lab Synthix has a pretty easy to use and clear UI, not sure if it's too similar to what you got already tho? But worth a look as each sound has different layers that you can alter to really get the sound your looking for.

Dune would be definitively a great match. Easy to use gui, but big sounds.
Massvie could be also a great choice, after some time discovering this synth, Massive will be also easy to use, but more flexible as the most others.

With reservation for being biased, our kHs ONE was designed to be quick, easy & comfortable to use UI-wise, without giving up technical depth.
There are fully functional demos on our website if you want to have a go.
Have fun

I love Zebra2 as a teaching/learning synth. The signal flow if explicitly shown in the middle and the only modules that show up are ones actually being used. It takes a bit of time to learn to read direct-modulation slots but once you know that you can start to dissect almost any patch. As I've learned and grown over the years Zebra has kept up right there with me (often leading the way).
