How stable are the betas?

Is Steve actually going to release a 'proper' new version or does it always stay in beta?

I ask as I've been troubleshooting enough recently on my computer and don't want to add to my woes.

Phew, 81?
Hope this thing does not end up uselessly bloated. :)

Don't know, only found out today but pretty stable so far and the filters are really nice, that's why i posted. New beta just released as well but the forum seems to be down. :(

The filters are a big improvement imho. I've only tried a few things but been getting good results. :)

I've tried my best to avoid that, while adding a lot of power - all of the filters are in sub-menus and you can navigate through the types with the +/- buttons instead of needing to menu.

I'd say the latest one is better than the 1.0 release (since it has some important fixes). Stability (crashes) have never been a real problem with LFOTool, it has been relatively support-free.

I tend to recommend the latest beta to all users, although there will be at least one more beta before the 1.1 release.

Also just a heads-up, due to the filter licensing there will be a price increase with the 1.1 release, however updates will always be free.

Too bad no RTAs - does this work fine when wrapped using the FXpansion wrapper?

Post

I haven't updated yet. What does the 'var' slider do? Is there a new manual?

Post

it depends on which filter mode your using, some of them have morphing, e.g. ones that have lp/hp in one, you can change the second cutoff, or morph through the various filter types, or change dampening on combs

No, unfortunately, that RTAS wrapper isn't VST2.4 compatible (rumor is it works more-or-less some hotkeys on Windows, but no GUI appears under OSX). However LFOTool will run in ProTools hosted inside NI Maschine or NI Kore.

The var slider is a filter variation, it changes name and function based on the filter-type selected (e.g High or Low shelf on the Phaser/Flangers, second cutoff control for the multi-filters, or morphing as ezelkow1 mentioned).

There will be an updated manual with the 1.1 release.

Yep, this update seems awesome actually. :)
Its just an expansion of whats already there. That is both easy to understand, and logically wont have a big effect on the workflow or efficiency of the thing.
Tbh, I was just surprised to see an update, and thought 'Oh no! Dont change!' :hihi:

Coincidentally I was just catching up on Pensado's Place and caught Steve D. Is that you?
(You can ignore that if you are. :hihi:)
He seems a super chill guy. He said about ten things that I said "Fukk, yes!" to.
