beware, 9 megs, no #7, ~100 samples.. most words, some glitches. there's a couple of big junk glitch files in there that will piss you off if you have a hard time with the dialup d/l, consider yourself warned. i did take the big one out tho.

and always remember - anyone who criticises you hates you implicitly so you must think they are bad.

Very cool. :D

I tried and tried to track down the voice synthesizer module for the Texas Instruments 99/4A home computer. I believe it used the same voice synth chip that was in the Speak & Spell but you could simply type in words and phrases for it to pronounce. At this point I'd even be happy with a software emulation of it.

Now I can get to work on some Computer World-esque tunes.

thanks for the samples 8)

I got this on a forum about the emulator.

"Unfortunately, the speech option is grayed out for everyone. At one time, I had speech working with Microsoft's speech engine. However, the whole process was very error prone and not worth the time to make it work on all machines."

Ah, I thought it was just being fussy about my audio card drivers.

I had a ti99 but I don't think I ever had the speech synthesizer module. Does anyone know if they are rare/expensive now?

i managed to find a ss cartridge for my coco on the net for $20.. big enthusiasts community, there were several others similarly priced. worth a look.

coco as used in http://www.xoxos.net/robot motherfuckers.mp3 (berlitz talking translator on backups)

hows about putting a bunch of tracks using these samples in a thread? if you d/l the samples do one.
