Sometimes it's just as easy as changing the extension and making sure the computer knows what goes where.

Post

Can you comment on the issue of latency compensation and if/ how that is handled?

Post

I would be really excited to see SilentWay as a Rack Extension.
Particularly if Os introduces an easier way to get CV from analog synths back into the DAW. It'd be really neat to be able to control analog synths from Reason* and to control Reason from my modular.

*I know that there is a way to do this currently, but it's not ideal and there is no way to calibrate voltages.

Not just yet I'm afraid, this was an early tech demo after all, but it's not something we've overlooked.

Great news...im not really sure what happens though when a new format comes out?...will developers make all their new plug ins RE or will they make all of their plug in range RE..i would love to see arturias jupiter 8 in reason
live 11 / Arturia collection / many Softube plug ins / thats it

Post

This is not that different than what Ableton has done with AAS but on a vast scale. Live's Rack vs Reason's Rack more or less.

It would have to be an MKS-80 ;)

I so very much hope for Dmitry (Diversion), Valhalla and SKNote to add their range to the rack.........................................

You still haven't answered my question.. :(

Also.. another thing I've thought is this could be super useful if the API had great documentation. VST has pretty crappy docs imo. Little to no aid in figuring how it all is supposed to work internally when designing plugins. If your API is clean and has tons of resources it could become something big. At the very least, a good way to get into Pro Audio development.

I second someones opinion about the sequencer. If Props wants this stuff to take off they need to update the sequencer. Maybe make some type of hybrid like Ableton. In the past I've had a lot of fun with Ableton+Reason, but its just easier to use other plugins.

If Props were to revamp the sequencers (+midi out), and keep the price reasonable, I would try it. But it really depends on the sequencer.

One effect that I completely fell in love with was the Scream4, if some how I could send audio into it from a Virus, that would be distortion heaven. I hope Virus makes a TI version for reason, that would be insane.

I am excited about the IPAD app, will definitely buy that.

Like I said, can't give details about latency compensation. It's still quite early, sorry! :)

Re: documentation I know that we have (or are working on) extensive documentation for developers working with Rack Extensions and I can only imagine this getting expanded.

My question wasn't on latency compensation but 'compensation' of another sort. :hihi:

The documentation aspect is appealing to me. Esp if you have some basic tutorials on setting up basic sound generators/effects. :)

Compensation as in crossgrades? Too early to comment I'm afraid but what I can say is that developer's set the price. We hear the feedback though, appreciate that. :)

Anosou, could an RE have midi out functionality?
Some of my music Soundcloud Goseba

Mattias (Anosou), one question I had was with regards to paramater ranges. Will developers be able to use >127 steps for knobs and sliders?
