Yes! That means you have a street-price-$99 Rack Extensions host with ReWire available. :)

And finally, perhaps, we could get some serious FM into those racks!

I am thinking of how in the Palm OS and Windows Mobile environments before Apple's app store it was hard to find and difficult to install many apps, "plugins" if you will to those device's core functionality, but Apple's app store and now Android's have made that all much easier and so all developers have an easier time marketing their wares. Consequently there is more competition for your dollars and prices are pretty low overall compared to the old days of PALM OS apps being $10-20 normally, some even more. I'm just wondering if we'll see add-driven plugins in the future :D (you could say the CM and Amazonia.de plugs already do this). I just don't want to see the wide world of VSTs negatively impacted. I wonder if PH will allow free plugins at any point. THAT would definitely make it much more interesting to me. Some sort of plugin that allows you to host any VST would be the first RE plugin I'd work on BTW :) A riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a shiny GUI...
Plugin devs with sponsorship deals? soon you're Reason rack will look a billboard/F1 racecar. :clown:

It is quite an exciting announcement imo but will wait to see how it's all implemented. If companies like Arturia, NI and Spectrasonics start porting their software, Hello!

I hear what your saying about taking away from the other formats development though. But then these companies seem to do ok with iOS apps already (Hello Ik! :hihi:)

He reminds me of Craig Ferguson.. they sound similar.. use similar hand gestures.. even ask/comment on awkward topics..

I'd also really like to see 3rd party devs make module devices, like oscillators, filters, envelopes, and various kinds of modulators, plus logic modules, multiplexers etc., so that reason can be used as a fully modular synth a la nord modular G2.

It's quite possible a Rack Extension SDK developer could create a modular tool kit of this nature too.
The mind boggles.

Less music would get completed, more patch cables and wubwubwub sounds would occur.. hmmm

You know how people always wanted a Reason VSTi

What if there was a Reason Rack Extension

And Bazille/ACE

Reason inside Reason with cables on both sides

So the big new idea is to support 3rd party while making me pay all the stuff I owned AGAIN?

I kept eyeing Reason and now the incentive is to buy everything twice, gee thanks.

No I don't want rewire. I want to use the stuff I bought in Reason. Why bloody why another walled garden shop? :bang: :bang: :bang:

Just thinking about the 'legendary reason efficiency', i wonder will plugins be coded to run more efficiently with the sdk or will they be as demanding as their plugin counterparts?
