Fair enough, but still - there is little reason a developer should not distribute through the Rack Extender store taking into consideration the amount of potential customers it may result in.headquest wrote:We keep taking this out of context - actually if you watch that video Ernst says that the developer was "up and running" in 15 minutes, but it then "obviously took considerably more work" to finish the port, mostly on the UI elements.EnochLight wrote: existing code for an already built DSP can be used and compiled in 15 minutes with (presumably) the RE SDK.
I'll call your opposite and raisehighkoo wrote: No.
Actually, it would do the opposite.
Well, unless this is a theoretical problem to be solved without consideration for the concepts of limited time and resources.
Then yeah, sure.
I'm going to take an educated guess and say that the potential customer base is pretty freak'n huge, taking into consideration Reason has been around 11+ years and is hugely popular.headquest wrote:It would be interesting to know actually what that potential is likely to be, given that there is a hint prices may be very low, as with iApps.
Yep. Speaking of GForce does anyone know which plugins are being ported?Aiyn wrote:For me the clincher will be what synths are available. But think of sound design with something like Imposcar or Diva will all the patch points on the back and soft-tube reverbs and eq all in the combinator and and and its just going to be crazy. CPU killer for sure though.
Thanks, will look for it later.zvenx wrote:Urs answered that, I think a few pages ago in this very thread.musikmachine wrote:I'd be curious to know how long it took for Urs or Magnus to port their plugins.

Based on the RE Store mock-up slide in the presentation, it looks like M-Tron Pro. I think they may be working on another one as well.musikmachine wrote:Yep. LOL sort of interesting to consider Omnisphere or Trillian running inside Reasonbmrzycki wrote:I'll be interested to see Spectrasonics' take on this (or other producers of huge libraries). I don't think PHeads will want to push 60+GB of data to everyone...
Hmm, maybe they'd like to push it 1GB at a timebmrzycki wrote:I'll be interested to see Spectrasonics' take on this (or other producers of huge libraries). I don't think PHeads will want to push 60+GB of data to everyone...
They could always sell the license and a demo library in the store, and have the DVDs shipped once the purchase is made. But who does the shipping, how 'integrated' will that be, how reliable will that service be for the end users, especially spread across the globe?xh3rv wrote:Hmm, maybe they'd like to push it 1GB at a timebmrzycki wrote:I'll be interested to see Spectrasonics' take on this (or other producers of huge libraries).
