A 5 year old machine having a problem with its PSU? Sounds pretty reasonable to me. I thought PSU as I read through the thread as well as my first gut reaction. Could be mobo as well, but I'd hit the PSU first personally. Is this a new Dell PSU, BTW? I know Dell has been proprietary in the past, but haven't worked enough with them to know either way.

This is the item in question.
It is new, the replacement,
and yeah, I reckon for sure they r proprietary.
The way they dock to the motherboard i'm sure isn't standard,
and they r 750 watts.
If it's the MOBO, I need help prolly.
Dell may still cover me a little, as it's a high end system.

The existing PSU is as old as the system-2007

Hope it's the power supply, it has had a lot of work.
