The CPU use is definitely a question for you to consider... besides that, give it a test drive. I think that you will discover that the sound of Diva is truly something special. Diva can do beautiful pads. The different filters have such character and the sound quality is something else.

I've listened to the audio demos and there's no denying it sounds great. Also, I find I can get caught up in meddling with synths/lusting after stuff instead of actually getting on and making music- need more self discipline!! So in short I realise it's probably a great synth but I'm reluctant to give it a go! Maybe I'll give the demo a whirl over xmas....

I like the new Diva sounds, reminds me of a Jupiter 8 or other Roland-ish stuff.
FWIW Creamware/Soniccore is now open for outside development.
Say Goodbye to the Molasses of Windows or OSX enslavement.
Why do so mnay guys have dozens of VSTi synths.............?
Cause they can;t find one they really like, and feel the need to keep buying more in hopes of finding satifactions.
Diva is the only VSTi I've heard in the past 15 years I would even consider trying out.
But I am a cruel tester. I use to take the effects off of hardware synths like the Korg M1 and listen to their sounds, then run them through a Lexicon PCM70 since that would be the effect they would use in an AUX channel of my ancient Yamaha DMP7.
So I understand developers needing effects on their synths, but I ALWAYS demo them dry, since thats' where the naked truth lies....
Nice work on u-He's part though. Never thought I would hear a Native synth I liked, and only listened to this since there were pages and pages on threads everywhere.
Plus when a synth needs CPU, it makes me think that synth edit wasn;t used, thank god. That;s for FLStudio synths I think...

Don't confuse synthmaker with synthedit. Synthedit is actually not bad, it has an SDK that uses C++. In some ways it can be used as a streamlined development environment, which can be helpful if you want to rapidly develop. It also has a significant developer community. Many of the synth projects that use it are not CPU monsters by any means. You can write modules on your own for synthedit using C++. For those who like to push out in an agile method utilizing rapid development, this is a good way to handle the initial development cycles. It remains a popular platform for indies with a decent developer community for this reason.
The visual programming system FL comes with is a modified version of synthmaker. Synthmaker while fun, is more akin to a reaktor or MAX. While it does allow for creation of VSTs, it is does not have the software development kit like Synthedit. This limits its functionality from a developer perspective.
With that being said, most of the FL products were probably developed using regular code. Image Line purchased some small indies to get the lineup of synths that they sell.

Thanks for clearing that up, I don't know jack about programming except for creation of presets on various hardware and DSP synths, which I love because they operate at audiorate modulation.
I like the u-He stuff though but then again it's an mp3, so on my powered stage monitors and rotary cabinet, it might be like other VSTi's that sound as though they come from the back of the speaker instead of the front.
Can't explain it any other way.
Perhaps it's the effects they are bathed in that mask the sound, I'm not sure, I just know unless I am at home using headphones and having fun with my kid, there's no better app than FL Studio and it's Katie Perry synths.
Jeez if I hook up with some new babe with great pay, I might have get some of these cute little freebies...

Haha. This is the first time I've noticed this thread. I couldn't help but laugh. Zebra VS a whole company's product line?
The really funny thing is that Zebra is better by a huge margin.
I have to give Arturia a lot of credit for their wonderful Oberheim SEM V though. It's exceptional.
