I guess when softies need dongles, it's time to consider getting a real instrument. Sound better anyways instead of these Intel/Microsoft/Dongled thingys.
This sucks really, now my son will want a synth with a dongle and a picture.
Before he was happy with just the cool picture of a real synth.
Do the dongled synths cost more thaqn the usual 50-200 recreation of synths from the 70s and 80s...?
Which dongle synth would you suggest I get my Kid, his BDays coming up and I really dont know anything about these dongled synths...

I'm not sure if you're joking, but if you're serious, a dongle makes no difference in sound or quality, it's a different form of copy protection. The advantage is that it isn't tied to one computer, you can use it wherever you plug the dongle in to (about the size of a thumb drive). The disadvantage is that you always have to have this thing sticking out of a usb slot so not good for laptops. Makes no difference in price either. Often products that use dongles switch to not needing them and instead store the license on a computer, or vice versa.

Apparently my version of Zebra, or possibly any U-he product, has the same advantage without the dongle. If you store the code on your phone, or similar.
You can use it with any computer as long as you're the user.
I wonder how many other synths can do the same without a dongle?

I like that idea about the phone.
I've always stayed clear of that ptotection stuff. Use a DSP rack and Hardware synths.
Seen too many guys pulling thier hair out before a soundcheck freaking out about their dongles and laptops.
Muse Receptors seem to be a good alternative.
Does Zebra or the u-He Diva synths work with receptors...?
