it's what I love about NI synths and one of the reasons I use them so much.

I dont know how many times i have had to redo all meta for Maschine... I much prefer to just browse my folders for samples, but you cant do that on the hardware unit, only meta :x

Should i assume that meta is more for preset junkies? I just about never use anyone else's presets so i don't think i fully understand the use of it. (i dont mean anything bad by preset junkies! I've seen it written before so maybe it's a general term)

It is for when you have a lot of presets to sort through. I use presets as starting points, I like to collect a bunch, I'm not a sound designer and I don't really want to be, but many presets created by sound designers have cryptic names that don't really say what they sound like, so in that case tagging them with 'bright pad' or something can be useful. But not necessary. I wouldn't want the ease of use and simplicity of the simple folder presets to go away so we could get some meta tags, just add some functionality to what is already there. Even if it were just a simple filter to show only your favorites all in one place, and maybe also to show all your junk, that would be cool with me. I definitely don't want to make it too complicated or buggy.

Behold Tyrells new layout. 8)

(Never mind the odd coloring - thats just for orientation purposes.)

i'd just lose the envelope graphics, but other than that it's a brilliant layout imho.

Agreed. If it could be ANY more simple or logical, I don't see how. I wish ALL synths adopted some sort of common, simple, most logical layout as this version displayed - like if they made one common hardware controller it would have a common layout for the basic.

I love this layout and would download it if it becomes real

Are you guys (especially ENV1) using some kind of editor for the UI? When i look at the script in notepad i feel like a caveman at a stamp collectors convention.

Haha.. I am with you on that.. it hurts my eye. Open it in wordpad, it's better. At least you will see the formatted version. That's only the opening part the next step is... I don't even wanna go there... But on second thought, it's well explained in this thread itself...
