Yes, we are working on a system where you'll be able to get the entire mag digitally (Apple Newsstand or Zinio + downloads for the disc content). We're hugely excited about it and can't wait for it to launch! Pricing isn't set yet. And yes, you'll be able to buy just one copy.
This would be AWESOME!!

So if you want the value which a knob has to change,
you assign a modulater to it,
this can be any value which isn't static(generally)- like pitch, envelopes, lfo's,audiostream
12 is still heaps to craft many patches with. Typically I only use about 3

Sorry, but in regards to DUNE this answer is really nonsense. In DUNE the modulation matrix is with which you set free its real power, which is hidden beneath is deceivingly simple surface.

Almost any parameter can be controlled via the 'modulatation matrix'. And the parameters can be statically shifted by static values. And this can be done (optionally) independentally for each of the 'unison' voices (or for groups of them). So each 'unison voice' is like a copy of the synth (as according to the setting visible on the gui) which differs from the original in any way you desire.

So this could be (for instance) another waveform (one slot with a static value) plus another filter frequency (one slot with a static value) plus a slight detune (one slot with a static value) a different filter resonance (one slot with a static value) plus a different volume envelope (might be e.g. four slots with static values) maybe a slightly different filter envelope (let's say two slots with static values). So that's ten slots and could be done with the CM version. But what about other modulations (for instance LFOs)? And this was just a single 'unison voice'. You can do the same (but with totally or just slightly different values (static or modulated ones) - as you need) with the others. In the light of this, 24 slots still aren't a lot.

Lee, great news (and on DuneCM, too)! But as I already have a subscription (and have done for 5 years now), will I be able to access the digital versions and downloads too for the sake of convenience? Not all of my machines have optical drives, so a fair bit of disc-hassle is required to delve into the cover DVD. As for digitised mags, the prospect of being able to do text-searches for reviews or bits of advice I remember reading weeks, months or years ago without having to search through stacks of back issues in the loft is fantastic! Feasible? A user account tied to subscriber details, perhaps, created via Future Publishing's very helpful phone staff...? :)

Cheers

Does anyone know if this DUNE CM version will be able to correctly play presets that were made using more than 12 matrix slots?

Just installed this now. Very nice!! One of the best from CM, for sure.

hmm,
I still think that for an overview of mod matrix, the shifting values are pertinent. The value u r controlling is already assigned to a static knob. I see what u r saying about changing more than one value at once, but hold my reply was valid.
Gotta demo Dune :band:
I wonder what I want in here

I just wanna voice support for creating a way that digital subscribers and subscribers with limitations (no disk drive and such) could access some/all of the monthly material. I am from the US and I get the digital version through zinio and this month is one of those months where I really wish we could access the extra content. When I have wanted the extra content enough to try and purchase a hard copy in stores, I have found it tough to find a copy of CM (as well as other magazines w/ bonus content) that hasn't fallen victim to a dvd heist.
Anyways, I just wanted to say that I appreciate that CM is working on creating a way that additional content can be accessed by digital subscribers. That way I won't have to feel ridiculous for buying a copy of a magazine I have already purchased...Haha! Keep up the good work!

its in the shops now, picked mine up this morning

same presets as Dune BE, and any that use the 2nd page of the mod matrix still sound the same even though its disabled in the CM edition.

great freebie, thanks CM and Richard/Synapse :)

I just bought this issue of CM and only found out that this is a 32 bit only version, and therefore not much use to me. There's no mention in the mag, you have to try to install it to find out. Bu**er!

Please CM start naking this info more visible!

Sounds great, brazilian here... :D
I'm living in Brazil and it's very hard to get a copy of the mag here.
So that's amazing news!

What shops? My local bookstores are either gone or don't carry it. Kind of sad. I don't want a full subscription, I just like to buy an issue every now and then. I guess I could try and get it from Amazon.

Right, most of the book stores in my locality are either closed or don't carry the magazine either, but I was surprised to find the book section at an area computer store - MicroCenter - carrying CM, MusicTech, FM, etc. Of course it's a 30 min drive to get there... can't win ;-)
