open Wordpad, type "!EDITOR=YES", press enter
save as "default.h2p" in TyrellN6 root preset directory
re-open TyrellN6 and start to figure it out ;)

I tried that once and it caused a seizure :D

Interesting! BTW the LFOs are missing 2 switches each... Seem to be several more switches missing (too full of cold to list them, sorry)

Integrated Editor.

Since Urs seems to do everything in a modular way (which btw is a pleasure to look at) its almost like some sort of SynthEdit, only in u-he quality. 8)

Access: See Urs' post.

I was planning on using 'menued' knobs there, you know, like the ones for the XMod sources.

But you are right anyway, there are still a lot of items missing, but thats only because this is only the first raw draft.

The final layout/skin will of course be complete. It will also have all labels correctly positioned (i.e. perfectly centered above the item) and so forth.

PS: Urs, if you read this; someone mentioned adding the parameter for the PanMod to the preset by hand. Since this seems to make the setting for this param 'stick' in the preset, could this be done for all currently unused features, so that one could simply provide a properly prepared preset with a skin that features (some of) the now unused extra features? Because as it is their params are not being saved.

Or if that doesnt work, is there any other way of approaching this, short of you having to recompile the DLL? Im asking because now is still a good time to make bigger changes to the new layout...

How kickass isn't this! :D

When they make this into a hardware synth I think I will buy it. I love the sound of this vst.

I'm a bit late jumping on version 2.0 but I'll just have to say that this sounds absolutely awesome!! 8) I do have some gripes about the installation though. If you do it exactly like it's being explained it works nicely, but I don't get why it has to be that fiddly. As I recall the initial Tyrell version wasn't.
Absolutely wonderful patches included and a great variety too really showing the capability of this instrument. This can cover pretty much every style (I'm sticking to PHUNK though :hihi: )
As discussed before, it is a CPU killer though, and on my 4GB dual core I often struggle playing a five-finger chord. I hate that since I end up using it as a monophonic instrument only, If I am to have other stuff running in the DAW as well. No other VST I know of it as hungry as this one.
As for the GUI, well I actually like the new default one. I'm not one to care much GUI's though. I still use the synth1 and Oatmeal default ones

Fantastic job nevertheless - URS, you are da man!! :D

(Sorry if all these things have been up earlier in the thread. I didn't go through all the 20+ pages)

Can someone spice up Bazille a little while at it? ;)

Urs, im really really impressed with your editor! Or should i give Clemens credit for it? I don't think he gets enough by us kvrians

How do i delete things in the editor? I can add tons of knobs, but i have no idea on how to remove them.. Pressing delete or backspace does nothing and there's no option when rightclicking that i can see.

Are you talking about Windows 7 installation? In Win XP it's simply drop the folders in your VST folder and done. If it is a Win 7 permissions issue it's just another confirmation of why I'm sticking with Win XP until it dies from old age.....

Nope!! It's even worse! It's Vista  :-o
My music laptop runs on that but my to go laptop is w7. Works pretty good for me but then again, I've got no music related stuff installed on it as it's for daily use.

Hmmm... the editor is from me, mostly from 2004-2006 and it was the reason it took so long to get zebra over to Windows back then.

I'm mostly using it on Mac, so there's a great chance that the backspace key doesn't fire on Windows. Backspace would usually delete things.

You can do this:

Create a Pane, right-click-rename to "dumpster". Select whatever you want to delete and drag it over the dumpster pane. Then right-click the dumpster while everything is still selected and "Selection->embed to layer". Right-click the dumpster and "bring to front".

right-click->save

Open the txt file and delete every item whose parent is dumpster. That's ll items from dumpster itself until the final Properties at the bottom (do not delete the last properties section!), because dumpster is the top most object which is at the bottom of the list.

Next week I might find the time too look into the backspace issue

Urs, I never got an answer. Are you stacking voices? I saw you have a choice of Duophonic, splitting two signals to fake stereo. Would that make 4 voices quadraphonic? Not really quad but four mono signals.

I love my XP. But for trolling the interweb, I feel safer with Vista Premium on the laptoppy.

PS: I'm running in VSTHost and it doesn't have a VU meter AFAIK
You're speaking of polyphony, I'm speaking of output channels.
Check this preset: http://www.box.com/s/a2a7351959f0fa7c4ff1 (Sorry for the Box.com link, I don't have access to my webspace at the moment).

It's my Tyrell (version 1) init preset (I guess it will work with version 2 too, haven't had the time to try the new version yet ).

I edited the preset with a text editor to make the output panning available as a destination in the mod matrix :)

hakey wrote:Did the older version have Pan as a Matrix Target, or is that a figment of my imagination? :?
The pan was a relic from my other code. As the original concept for Tyrell is single output (mono as opposed to stereo) synth, I left out controls for pan and thus erased it from the parameter list.

(I might bring it back for Diva though)
