Mwahahahahaha

:hihi:

Only towards Reason.
But that's because it sucks! ;)
My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.

I like FL Studio, open architecture, can do it how you want, no specific workflow you have to follow, and lifetime free updates,

But I also like telling other people around me that it sucks.... that way they'll stay away from my secret weapon (FL Studio = the best kept secret)

But, that's just my opinion.

It all comes down to personal preference, and what you're most comfortable with & what you enjoy.

I've played around with other DAW's but will always stick to FL, (but this is only cause I started with this first & because I know it, had I started with Live, Reason, Reaper...etc I'd probably be saying that they were better)

Yes, agreed, these are great things. I love that it can be used as a VST plug-in and am always surprised that more people don't use it to enhance their favorite DAW's. For example, anyone who's ever complained about Reaper's MIDI, they can simply load FL within it and the problem is instantly solved. Maschine and BPM are great for this, too.

I installed the FL demo but got some DLL warning when starting Reaper. Does the whole app load as a VST or only components of it? I never have warmed to the GUI but I do like elements of it, like how there are nice step sequencers in line with the drum sequencer. But then I don't mind Reaper's midi either. I just never explored FL properly, haven't had a good look at it in years and years.

You have to install the VSTi version in your favorite plugins folder, then the whole works loads into a channel of your DAW. But you knew that already. :)

Actually I didn't, I got this when trying to add it so I have never seen it yet:

I'd be into the idea of using FL as a plugin, my question is what version should I get if this is something I choose to do?

You can try Maschine or BPM if you don't like FL. They all load as VST's and provide capabilities that many DAW's lack on their own. I personally use Maschine.
