Well whatever it is, it sounds good. 
Certainly you wrung some interesting sounds out of Diva - I haven't really looked at it much, but these have far more detail than I imagined possible. Nice one!

Yo Chris, how did you do the cool guitarish sound? This one threw me off as I thought it sounded somewhat KarplusStrongish but not really. Must have been FM?

Just checked - there is some triple oscillator fm and filter fm, but removing both doesn't change the sound that much. I think I started with the SOS Synth Secrets article on guitars and went from there. And the rather good midi clip I found (very difficult to program realistic guitar style articulation like that) makes a fairly average patch sound better than it is, imo.chacka wrote: how did you do the cool guitarish sound? The same patch also became the double bass and string parts in the last clip.
You'll be able to see it for yourself in a few days. Everyone who submitted a bank for the Diva contest will get a link where they can download the bank if they want it - 45 patches so far, might be a few more when I'm done.
