I demo'd Firebird+ and really liked it, just not enough to buy it, I am hoping this is really good and 'analog' warm ala Diva, if the CPU hit is indeed in the P4 compatable range I'll definitely be considering it. I'm just calling them out, trying to get a responsezvenx wrote:I read it more like maybe the competitors don't know how to at least as well as tone2 can, OR it wasn't a priority.....we shall see.....provided it isn't another trance synth I will most likely be getting it. Can't imagine it not sounding good as I have two of their other synths, I just don't want it to sound like either of the two I already have.

I'm curious how this will compare to ElectraX price and tone-wise. I need to give that demo a go.zvenx wrote:lol....

Hey, if they can get the same level of sound quality as Diva for very low cpu, more power to them... I don't believe for a second they will, but we all benefit if they do!MaxSynths wrote:pdxindy wrote:HiEnergy wrote:Is there finally anything new here?
nope... 6 weeks, 44 pages, no audio
Well everybody should consider that from the official announcement till the release date there are less than two months. Things are going on very fast!
Just a little bit of patience guys
EDIT: concerning the CPU usage it's really low. So low that, compared to DIVA, you can also play the synth without the risk to hit 100% with just one note.

FWIW, I have never hit 100% CPU in Diva with just one note. And I just tried the ElectraX demo on my laptop that handles Diva (albeit on draft) and it crackles like a fireplace, so I'm not holding my breath.

How's that braj? Mine was exact opposite. Diva made my computer go nuts. I just put the same demo in mine, and thought for the sounds, the CPU was pretty tame. Crackles in some Vocoder patches, but I think that's oscillator beating. I cured one of them by turning the filter cut down.

I don't know, I'll have to check the asio4all settings, maybe something is whacky, just I haven't changed anything. Let me see...
OK, somehow DirectSound was loaded, ASIO4All somehow was disabled in Reaper, ElectraX is sipping the CPU. But then again, DIVA is not crashing everything with a 3 note chord either.
BTW, ElectraX sounds pretty nice, can't wait to hear Saurus

Yep maybe it's something related with the generic ASIO driver. I'm sure that with the right settings everything's will be fine. I'm not using an updated machine but I never experienced any crack/pops with ElectraX.braj wrote:I don't know, I'll have to check the asio4all settings, maybe something is whacky, just I haven't changed anything. After reading the original sentence twice, I can assure you that competing products have taken absolutely no effort in optimising themselvesbraj wrote:That seems to say competing products have not made much effort in that regard, which I don't think is the case at all.Q: Does it need much CPU?
A: No. Unlike competing products we have taken a lot of effort...
If that or the other statement was directed against us (as some suggest), then, well, I guess it's our own fault for picking up a stupid buzzword or two. Nevertheless, in the end what counts is the sound, not the technology behind it (admitted, this might be somewhat related at times). I'm sure there's still huge demand for both cpu friendly and cutting edge synths out there.
That said I know that Markus is a really nice and humble guy and I wish him all the best with his stuff.

Patience is a virtue. Believe me when I say Markus and Bastiaan + the rest of the crew have been working their hind quarters off getting this ready to come out. It's not like it "won't" arrive, it will, you just need to sit on your hands a wee bit longer
But for what it's worth...
It sounds freaking amazing
And that is NO April fool.

I;m sure each has it's own unique sound and will compliment each other nicely.

Was there some kind of contest or something? I would have been interested in making an audio demo as well as sound design... ow wellMarkus from Tone2.com wrote: - Deadline for the demosong writers is today. An mp3 demo will be available soon.
