it's available in Germany now, 79 Cents.
I was hoping for an App that allows project exports to Reason.
A little bit like NI have done it with the iMaschine -> Maschine export function.
Well...

What isn't totally obvious at first quick look is that every instrument (not just instrument type) has it's own unique options in the tweak screen. So there is quite a palette of sounds, these can be recorded/automated, on it's own x/y pad. You can record patterns by a combination of tapping/holding finger down.. There are a selection of timing patterns that are triggered by just holding your finger down, these are selectable in the circles,, Drum sounds can vary depending where in the rectangle you play. As it is, it's really for on the fly jamming, a page where you can store patterns for recall would be good.. Hopefully they will add new things and it could grow into something crazy if this is seen as like a simple beginning template.. It was quite cool with the kaoss pad!
In some ways it reminds me a little of when I would jam with the korg synth on the Nintendo ds

A shame that you can't change Patterns on the fly as well.
When you choose one you're stuck with it, no way to switch from one Pattern to an other à la iKaossilator, for example....
But to stay positiv I would say that there is a lot of potential and place for improvment in this App.
It can just become better.

In some way it's limitations may spur some new uses, we'll see.. Be good to be able to sync 2 together on different phones maybe.. I'm pretty sure I can remember being able to do that with a friends korg ds and having a fun time jammin away together.

Guess the schematics are still available somewhere on the interwebz thoughAfter a year of poor sales, the remaining 100,000 pink Noisemusick circuit boards were buried in a landfill in New Mexico.

I like Figure, it's a lovely toy.
Unlike those who're stuck in old paradigms and hope that Props would make an effort to port the Reason rack to iOS devices, I applaud that they choose to instead explore new terrain and go for such stuff that's specifically designed for portable touch screen devices.
Let's see things for what they really are here. Figure 1.0 is the first version, a little test pilot so to speak, for things to come. Personally I hope they'll add a lot of available in-app purchases rather than trying to develop Figure into a more complex app in the $10 range.
I see almost every kid these days with an iPhone, and I think it's great that Props target that market, by designing "toy" stuff for ordinary people rather than "serious" stuff for spoiled music producers. Figure is a "slice of Reason on your iPhone", and we don't really know yet what the future holds. Maybe they'll add other such "slices" as separate iOS products after they've tested out this concept? Maybe that's even their longterm direction here, having multiple people connecting their iOS devices and jamming together as a band?
Unlike what many people seem to think, the Props are not just some marketing guys who try to look cool while they trick everybody to buy their products. They're true innovators and music industry entrepreneurs. I wouldn't be surprised if they had other cards up their sleeves.
For example, consider the reverse possibilities: that they might install Figure as a device in the Reason rack. And having a separate desktop Figure soundset designer in a Reload-like fashion, with some kind of menu pack-and-export item in Reason.
No matter what possibilities we consider, fact still remains that Figure 1.0 really is just a first move and as such it's probably important for Props (in terms of design and usability) that as many people as possible find it easy and fun to use. For $1 nobody can really complain anyway.

haha wow now that is a simple app to say the least - but a fun one
it's a shame you cant export that 2bar loop to wav, thats a first thing they need to bring in the update (or at least some kind of soundcloud export?)
btw - it runs on my 3GS quite well (although they dont recommend it in app description). interface animations are not as fluent as they should be, but there's no stutters in sound whatsoever, so if anyone with iPhone 3GS wants to try it - give it a go.

I took that as a joke, myself.Jazz Franco wrote:After a year of poor sales, the remaining 100,000 pink Noisemusick circuit boards were buried in a landfill in New Mexico.
Ive found the build notes. I presume its basically an APC variant, the circular touchpads are cool though.Guess the schematics are still available somewhere on the interwebz though

I know what you mean. These kinds of things are two a penny on iOS. I have to ask myself would I have been interested in Figure if it wasn't made by Propellerheads? I bought Figure as soon as I knew it was available. I'm not so sure I would have bought it at all if it wasn't made by Propellerheads. it's a fun little App for sure. I actually really like the way it works. But it's of no real use at all at the moment. It's interest for me doesn't extend much further than the fact it's made by Propellerheads and it's ANOTHER fun but throwaway iOS App.J.C wrote:I'm tired of all these 1$ Apps ending in trash after a couple of weeks.
I'd rather pay 10 or 20$ for a solid App.
I'm tired of all these "Toys".

Damn, this app is pointless. No saving. What's the point? It's basically a toy, yes, a toy. Apple should have just put this on Game category instead of Music. At least it's only 1 bucks so i don't really lose much.
