You can buy it from here: http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/m ... ic-may-12/

I've ordered a back issue that way (and I'm in the US). I had a runaround with the website and the magazine took longer to get here than it should have, but I did eventually get it. Less than ideal, but as far as I could tell it's your only option if you can't get it from a store.

[Edit on 4/21/12: Since I mentioned a runaround and long wait, I feel compelled to mention that I recently ordered another issue--this one, 177, actually--and everything went quite smoothly and the magazine arrived in a timely fashion.]

- time locked (like: stops moving end July or something)
Dune CM is not time-locked. Our featured giveaway software is never time-locked :)

You can order online at http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk

Subscriptions: http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/m ... scription/

Single/back issues: http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/m ... ck-issues/

My local B&N is far away, and yesterday when I went they didn't have any copies anyhow. It is pointless to count on them but I'd love a copy of DuneCM.
CM goes on sale in the US approximately 4 weeks after the UK on sale date, so you probably won't see it in US stores for another 3 weeks or so.

We can't give a specific ETA beyond "it's ready when it's ready". Sorry about that.

So what are the actual differences between Dune Le/be and Dune CM?

Post

both are 32 bit, missing onboard effects and have only 128 presets.

BE has 24 mod matrix slots, is windows only
CM has 12 mod matrix slots, win+mac.

so if you are on mac the choice is made for you. for pc, you'd have to work out how much you want the extra mod matrix slots.

(I ended up getting both magazines for extra goodies - beat for Firebird+, CM for DiversionFX as i missed last months)

Post

It's crazy that you can't get this from B&N website. It's all NOOK stuff.

Post

Which Beat issue should i buy in order to get Firebird+ AND Dune BE? Can i buy PDF version and download the synths?

Edit: Guy from CM, don't feel bad, i have lots of CM issues at home :D I doubt i'll read Beat as i don't speak much german so whenever i need some bathroom porn ill reach for your mag

Thanks! seems ill be getting Beat edition then, 12 additional slots are handy and i dont really use onboard fx on any synth :)

I have to dissapoint you on that behalf, since I just checked myself.

I don't know what happened, but apparently someone in Berlin had an elder issue with the DUNE BE on it. And it was issue 01/2012 (according to the publisher page, looks like I didn't read right).

Now here's the fun part:
1) the PDF Versions don't offer the DVD's
2) it's sold out (out of stock/print)

In short: out of luck. The issue had several other synths on it as well. Looks like the magazine is so short printed recently that if you don't jump on the deals NOW, you're sh*t out of luck at a later state. Or (like KEYS does), you need to buy every single magazine issue to get a download code to access the content of the magazine (which is of course NOT backwards compatible/opens the rest of the archive).

And it literally pisses me off that I have to pay a fortune for CM over here and still buy the cat in the hat. I mean... neither BEAT nor COMPUTER MUSIC post on their page what is listed on the DVDs. I don't buy these magazines just for a specific VSTi anymore to be honest, the sample content needs to be interesting as well. I'm a bit dissapointed by the general magazine content to be honest (counts to all magazines I read).

Sometimes I wish the "app market future" bollocks thing would als cover DVD downloads, then we wouldn't run out of stock. But no...

EDIT:
Looks like #77 is BEAT 04/2012 - but there is NO MENTION of DUNE BE listed on the presentation page, additional with the sample content. Why is it so difficult to list the whole DVD content?! Wouldn't that boost sales?

This page includes an overview of what's on the DVD: http://www.musicradar.com/computermusic ... now-536963

In addition, we're in the process of cleaning up and clarifying the content of our DVDs, and we'll be posting more clear info about what's on the discs in future.

I am looking forward to picking this up when it comes to the States.

yup, #77 is 04/2012 - its the one with 'Die 24 Besten DAW Controller' on the front.
and yes, the cover only mentions zeta+, mixvibes crossdj, and tone2 firebird.

despite not being mentioned, Dune is on the DVD (with overloud TH2 BE). Im guessing that it was a cover feature on an earlier mag (previous month?) but they've also included it again.
if you are interested in the samples, theres 2.8gb of 'Dub+lounge sounds' and 500 meg of DSI tempest loops.
