Ha! It's a nice feeling not to be collecting tools but finally having what you need and just sitting down to make some music!!!

But we'll see how long it lasts! It seems there are always new (sometimes better/sometimes not) things on the horizon. We've got 8DIO's Adagio coming up, and I understand that Cinesamples are coming out with a new orchestral library sometime.

And as you've shown sometimes it's good to have multiple options...

EDIT
So I downloaded the updates and TVEC4 upgrade bundle and the process was the easiest so far. A treat.

I'm trying to create some relatively quick staccato chords with the violins, but even when I set the instrument (Diamond) to staccato, there's too much of a delay. Is there any way to improve upon this? Also, does TVEC 4 improve the performance of the instrument in general?

Looking forward to responses, thanks.

I start to doubt that the TVEC3 Diamond Woodwind fixes will ever come...

I participated in the group buy recently and got Pop Rock Strings. I had some install issues and thought I would relate my experience in hopes it may help someone.

I followed Kirk's instructions very carefully, with respect to the folder organization. I have Kontakt 4.2.4, and when I tried to add the library,it gave the message "files are encrypted and library cannot be loaded until registered properly".

I could not seem to get it to launch the service center so that I could enter my serial number. It took a few times of trying the same thing of trying to add the library and getting the same error through Kontakt's browser. Finally, the dialog came up that asked if I wanted to register the library, or something similar.

I clicked through the prompts and service center opened. My music computer is offline, so I did the "offline" method, and entered my serial and got the authorization request file, transfered to a usb flash drive, went to a connected pc, sent authorization, received activation file, saved to usb drive, went back to music pc, opened activation file, and then service center said Pop Rock Strings was activated.

I then attempted to load a patch, and still got "files are encrypted and library cannot be loaded until registered properly" message. I removed the library from Kontakt's browser (to the right of the library banner, on left of interface), and tried adding again....I got the error message again...once more, I removed the library, and tried adding it. This time it was added with no errors, and I was able to load instruments.

I don't know why the service center/Kontakt is so fiddly in this activation scenario, but wanted to share this, as it mat help someone who is following directions and is still having difficulty getting a library to get activated.

I haven't really done too much yet with Pop Rock Strings, but so far it's really what I needed...looking forward to using this.
Thank you for everything.

Hi snowman, it seems to me that you could have this kind of problem that is reeealy simple to solve: I don't own Pop Rock Strings so I don't know the exact directory tree but I have other KH libraries so the same should apply.
Well, when you open the instruments folder you can find the real instruments and other empty ones that are used as 'titles' to keep the content organized. Example: 'a 16,8,4,1 Players' is a title while 'b Violins,16,4,1xxxx' is the actual instrument contained in the instrument 'a' group. If you try to open the 'title' even if is a .nki file you get the error you are describing no matter how many time you reinstall or register the library because it's actually empty while opening the other one you'll never get the error but the sound instead.
It's that simple :D

Thanks EdC, I didn't know this...that may explain the initial error messages, but the trouble I had even adding the library is still a mystery. No matter now, because I'm all set up to use these libraries...thanks again for the explanation.
Thank you for everything.

I'm not certain if I mentioned it before, but it isn't just the sound that is different in the TVEC 3 versions.

The attacks in TVEC 3 are much less crisp and not as quick.

It's hard to believe that they are the same samples.

Also, in the Older Versions folder the instruments include short runs that I don't see in the TVEC 3 versions.

The Alto Flute, Bass Clarinet and Contra Bassoon are also missing in TVEC 3.

@snowman

You're welcome! Btw, as far as I know is impossible to add Kirk's libraries in the 'Libraries' menu.. You access them by database, file browser or better quick-load function

@ P.T.

I agree with you and hoping for an update. While waiting for it did you check the AttkSens parameter in tvec3? If you set it to 0 you always obtain the maximum attack whilst increasing sensibility tvec decides the attack judging by your actual playing (basically velocity and legato). Probably if you set it to 0 and you switch off smart legato you should obtain the same older version attack sound; didn't checked though :)

Pop Rock Strings does - that's why you have to authorize it with the service center

I suggest not buying any TVEC4 upgrades until TVEC3 is not fixed. That's the best way to show Kirk that it is important to fix things.

I think you mean, "until TVEC3 is fixed," yes?
