Exactly zvenx... who cares about waveforms or tests and synth v synth? If you like the synth then use it and make music and post in music cafe for us all to hear eh? Does anyone actually produce on here? I wonder sometimes

It's not a matter of like it or not. In 70 pages the attempts to put down Saurus in every way has been ridiculous and unfair. Just my opinion (can I express my opinion? :D)

(end of the polemic on my side, I feel I'm only continuing to feed the...)

of course you can :-)... just don't put down others....I really read it as putting down Saurus...some ppl don't like it, which is understandable happens with everything in the world, some ppl dont' think it lived up to its hype, but still think it sounds good....which also happens with everything in the world... some people think the marketing is a bit misguiding which also happens with everything else..
peace,

edit: man you do love the word polemic :-)

Geez man, you're sounding as paranoid as tone2 are with their demo restrictions...

70 pages of trying to put down Saurus? 99% of it is talking about looking forward to it or that it has a nice sound, peppered with some healthy skepticism of some pretty big claims.
I haven't found the thread to be particularly trashing towards it, most people like the sound, regardless of whether it's got a vintage analog vibe as it claims. But most people don't really associate the sound with that much of a vintage analog character. It's just peoples honest opinions from what I can see, I don't think there is really much trolling going on here at all. I think if a dev is going to make some grand claims like have be made here, it's fair enough to point out if it's exaggerated.

@ maxsynths

First you call people who don't like Saurus assholes and then you say you respect everyone's opinions. Your words are in contradiction with your behavior.

How does this sound to you: Hey asshole... I respect you!

doesn't sound so respectful, now does it?

zvenx wrote: Why do you possibly find it appropriate to call ppl trolls and assholes who dont' agree with you
Very simple: because people here started to trolling and being assholes claiming what they don't really think. It's not a matter of what people thinks... There's nothing bad if someone like or dislike a synth and I respect the opinion of everybody. But what has been done here is simple and pure trolling by fanboys.

If you don't like a synth you can simply pass over.
What is your problem?. Please think first, then post. Words like asshole have no business here. :uhuhuh:

filter303 wrote:Saurus might not be Diva. But Tone2 has made the claims that this is an authentic analog emulation. It makes perfectly sense that it's being compared to a synth that most people agree of being the most authentic analog emulation in the existence.

"The circuits of several famous synthesizers have been measured, analyzed and carefully modeled"

What synths are they? If they sound anything like this, I would like to know so I can avoid ever buying them. FM, drive, extreme resonance and filter feedback sound so bad that I find it unbelievable that they are modelled from classic synthesizers.
+1

I don't care if it sounds like Diva... In fact I don't want it to cause I have Diva. I just want it to sound good in its own way...

Hi mate,

in fact this is the conclusion of my "tests" and demos i posted.

Anyway i also like Diva too and using it for comparison was no against Diva or Saurus but because Diva is a kind of "reference" synth for me now (and for other people too i guess). Both synths have different qualities IMO and they seem to complement very well.

I have already done a lot of factory sounds for Diva and i hope i find time for doing a full bank for Saurus.
As i got a day job as a physics teacher now this could take some time maybe, especially as the easter holidays will end on Wednesday...

Yes this is perfect, I have nothing against people which don't like it!
The problem is the way and the words you decide to use... you know I found most of the comments here out of place (exactly like the use of the word "assoholes").

Thank you zvenx :tu:

Hi Ingo,

Well im not clued up on all this testing of what waveform or what osc does this or that but i respect your work anyways.. however i don't care what synth is what and who made it as long as i get the sound i want. It could be a free synth or a synth i paid £200 for, if it sounds good i'll use it "IN MY OWN MUSIC" i also have Diva, i will use it in something im sure of it, i also have lots of other synths. I just use certain ones for certain tasks... I have Saurus Demo and i really like it too as do i like Synthmaster 2.5.. again i will use them all..

It's just about what suits your needs really.

Rob
