I would like to put a message in a waveform, as a welcome text at my soundcloud

. Here is an example of what i mean:

Is it possible?
And what is the quickest method to make it?

If you have soundforge or a similar editor you could try using the pencil tool.

If played, it would sound like a few clicks. Wouldnt do speakers cones any good

Yes it is possible. You just need a carrier sound. Then draw volume automation and apply DC offset where needed.

I think I saw a tool that does something alike. Someone posted a picture of a waveform that resembled La Linea. Oh, there it is:

Isn't it a lot easier to just generate a sine wave in an audio editor and then adjust the amplitude and DC offset for selections?

I tried to draw a keyboard by automating the dc offset. It looks pretty good in Wavelab but not on soundcloud. Exporting as mono or stereo doesn't matter:

If you don't want it filtered out when uploaded to mp3, use a sine wave at 5512.5hz. Make sure to add silence to the ends of the file so you can't see the inbetween peaks. You could also use waveshaping in addition to your envelope for drawing letters with one polarity smaller than the other.

I guess that DC offsets won't survive mp3 encoding because the mp3 encoding just cares about how it sounds and will thus remove DC offsets since that doesn't contribute to the sound. You have to use a lossless encoder for that and soundcloud does not support it.

Its not a waveform its 7 waveforms and it would sound like a speaker busting pop i would imagine.

If you hadn't told us it's a keyboard I'd never have guessed it, even in the Wavelab screenshot

DC offset in mpeg audio is fine, it's soundcloud's method of displaying a waveform that's screwing things up. They just take the max amplitude to draw an outline.
