I am in need of a good analog soft synth for the kinds of sounds that you heard in levels, Avicii. It needs to be in a reasonable price range A.K.A $200 and under. Im not looking for the dance bass because i already have adventus for that. If you don't know what part of levels im talking about im talking about the part that begins at 0:07(as in the 7th second)(i know that i can't create a loop as boss sauce as that one but id like to use those kinds of sounds)

You could try Nexus and a cracked copy of Sylenth1. That's what Avicii uses.

I just listend to Levels on youtube. The synths used are pretty basic sounds: saw pads, dual osc saw plucks, violin samples, saw arps (noticing a pattern here?) and a resonant noise filter buildup. You said you already have adventus, it looks more than capable to make all these sounds (except for the violin samples of course).

You'd do yourself more by just learning adventus and reading the Sound on Sound Synth Secrets archive: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/allsynthsecrets.htm

Unless you just want the sounds and don't want to learn how to program them. In that case a rompler like Nexus is perfect for this genre of house music.

He was referring to the fact that this numbskull was using a cracked copy of Sylenth somewhere (some vid on a magazine dvd, iirc).

In all seriousness, Sylenth will do it for you. Also check out the new Saurus, or Dune, as some more modern alternatives.

Keep in mind, though, that he's layering synths with tons of processing fx in between to get that (horrid) sound.

Thx for all of the replys i think i will save up for nexus because i don't really want to learn how to be a sound engineer just so i can fail at attempting to make sounds like the pros can.

If you want to become a pro, you should learn to make your own sounds so you are unique and not a copycat.

OK, serious response time. I owned Nexus/2 since day one plus a bunch of expansions, and it was a great tool, but I sold it last year just because I have way too many instruments and it just wasn't getting enough use. The guy that I collaborate with most often uses it everywhere with good results and he has no problem twisting the presets into something unrecognizable. So, I won't hesitate to recommend it to someone who wants a ton of ready-to-go sounds for dance music. The only people who are going to know or care that you're using it are lame-o's who sit around memorizing every patch in every expansion pack. Those are presumably the same guys standing against the walls at the club ridiculing the DJ for playing a song with a Nexus preset in it, while everybody else is having a good time and enjoying the music.

Bottom line: Nexus a great tool for dance music IMO. If you can't put it to good use and come up with something original using it, the problem isn't the tool.

I need a good soft synth for analog dance sounds
