Heavy emotions, yes. :)

I read a few music forums tbh, dont actively post on many, just here tbh, I like KVR, always have done, very informative about upcoming stuff.

I'm hoping the good stuff to come from this thread is that in future, a little more sensitivity is used in threads, and thats not aimed at any one person(s) it's just a general thought. Mods are caught between a rock and a hardplace as I am sure they've been watching, but when you have 2 main names in plug-in development like Tone2 and u-he appearing in the thread it's almost out of their hands to stop it.

Lets hope a line can be drawn under it now, i'm certainly tired of going over it and over it.

Lets go back OT (Thats ON not off :) )

True. The problem is that noone has the time and the mental capatcity to follow a huge theard like this one completely. Then things are taken out-of-context, quoted, the quote is quotes again. This results in a crippeled original content which leads to missunderstaning and a big arguement.
A better structure of the forum could help to enhance overwiew and reduce arguements.

Even as a fanboy/troll I have to be honest and said I don't think this post was necessary here.

I think at this point Meffy should close the thread and let Bastiaan if he wants start a new thread saying Saurus is available and it has x features, without any comparisons which wasn't in his postings tbh..

my two cents

Korg Polysix sounds great. Still great. I don't think Saurus is a serious challenger to;

Korg's analog collection synths
Image-line's Sawer
Admiral Quality's Poly-ana
FXpansion's DCAM
Any XILS Synth
ACE and Zebra
Olga
Arturia's CS80v, 2600v and (which I demoed at the same time and really liked) SEMv

Anyway, take any one of them, throw Warmverb on it and I feel you'll have a better more "analog" sounding synth than Saurus... but, in the end the Korg Monotron beats them all and is $50 cheaper than Saurus. 8)

This is why everybody praises you for your objective and sober advertisement. :)

Your original FAQ absolutely compared Saurus to Diva. Personally I didn't see it as a problem but please don't try to claim now that that was not the case.

f**ks sake, there is always one who's unfashionably late to every party !!!

Yes. The Korg Monotron is indeed a very nice toy. I bought one to get a feeling for the MS20 Filter and as inspiration for the 12dB lowpass in Saurus. ;-)

There, no need to thank me, I fixed it for you.

Saurus has been reported as stable in all known hosts. So far no serious bugs or problems have been reported. That's why i expect that an update to v1.1 will not be necessary very soon.
Initially i planed to extend the demo to 30 minutes with the v1.1 release. But now i think that it might be available earlier. Maybe after the release of AkustiX v.1.1 wich will include a 64 bit mac version.
I would suggest that the Mac bug that prevents the user from changing osc waveforms (etc) by clicking on the led should be considered serious enough to fix pronto...

That makes me angry. And when Dr. Evil gets angry, Mr. Bigglesworth gets upset. And when Mr. Bigglesworth gets upset... threads DIE!

MaxSynths wrote:Once you said that you don't like Saurus for the X or Y reason you have expressed your opinion. But when the thing turns into a persecusion with people (which casually belongs to the same "clan") pointing the finger to almost everything to highlight negative aspects of a new product which is potentially dangerous for the company they are linked to... well in this case the whole thing is really suspect, isn't it??
This happens when shit hits the fan. It comes ..... back.
You know, I din't even start to talk about what I think of Saurus. And yet you throw everybody into the big fanboi, clan, persecution, etc. corner and think you are doing right?
Sorry the shit came all from your side. And I hope it will come back from where came from in big abundance.

Are you the competitor you're talking about? Are you affiliated? I work for U-He and my signature says that clearly. What about you?
I only do beta test and sound design for Tone2 but I don't get a salary from them (but I get paid for sound design, but then again I don't make a living out of it, so I don't have any real economic interest out of this discussion. What about you? ;)). In any case, also if I weren't in some way linked with Tone2, my criticism about your method would be the same.

Are you trying to say that since I'm not from Tone2 I should stay away from the discussion? Forget it. I will be your worst nightmare, if necessary.

Yes very easy: keep away! And think to your business!
Why not do the same. After all, this thread isn't about your products either.
I'm not hijacking the thread to advertise my products though! ;)
I'm here (or I would like to be here...) to discuss about Saurus.
when you've been the one calling paying customers henchman. I'm sure I'm not the only one to find that insulting.
Yes, feel free to consider it an insult. I have no fear to say what I think and the behaviour of some people in this thread, and their words confirm what they really are.
Well, what a wonderful attitude. I'm sure that's going to win and retain many customers for you. As a side note, I only posted in this thread in the last few pages due to what I saw to be unfair comments telling someone to stop posting in a public forum and defend their products, and a few posts later, you're insulting an entire customer base.

And as far as the comparisons to Diva, anyone who didn't think that was the case is either daft or a liar. I'm blacklisting both MaxSynths and Tone2 after this thread. This type of behavior and these type of attitudes are unacceptable to me.

And I wouldn't be pretending to be objective and fair about supporting Saurus when you have soundbanks for other Tone2 products for sale on your website.

Anyway, going to work; I'm done with this thread.

There, no need to thank me, I'm an ass and I misquoted it for you.
I couldn't agree more :hihi:
