Markus from Tone2.com wrote: we never compared Saurus against DIVA.

Your original FAQ absolutely compared Saurus to Diva, in my opinion. Personally I didn't see it as a problem.
There, no need to thank me, I fixed it for you.
Thank you anyway Mr LeVzi, I know better than to flog a dead horse

Saurus has been reported as stable in all known hosts. So far no serious bugs or problems have been reported. That's why i expect that an update to v1.1 will not be necessary very soon.
Initially i planed to extend the demo to 30 minutes with the v1.1 release. But now i think that it might be available earlier. Maybe after the release of AkustiX v.1.1 wich will include a 64 bit mac version.
I would suggest that the Mac bug that prevents the user from changing osc waveforms (etc) by clicking on the led should be considered serious enough to fix pronto...
Changing the waveforms on the Mac with the led is not supported. This feature is available on the PC only. On the Mac you must use the push button (the same way as it was with analog hardware). I had diode feature implemented during the Saurus beta, but decided to kick it, since there were a couple wrong pixels in some hosts. I'll re-implement the feature it as soon as i can find a solution for these hosts.

Ahhh ok... my confusion... One of the beta testers said it was a bug...

It's clear that you do not understand what we are talking about. I was talking about people which deliberately assumed an extreme position.

I never had any problem with my customers, really. I try to be fair and responsive in any situation. BTW this thread is not about me... ;)
As a side note, I only posted in this thread in the last few pages due to what I saw to be unfair comments telling someone to stop posting in a public forum and defend their products, and a few posts later, you're insulting an entire customer base.
I'm sure that if you followed the thread from the start you would get a different picture.
And as far as the comparisons to Diva, anyone who didn't think that was the case is either daft or a liar.
Again not true. Read the whole thread.

And I wouldn't be pretending to be objective and fair about supporting Saurus when you have soundbanks for other Tone2 products for sale on your website.
Again: I think to be objective. My economical interests are so limited that can be considered ridicoulus

rsp
Kinda proves everything I said. Whatever the quote was should have stayed there.
I agree with that.

With the above in mind I would also note in this specific case that it was not us who started the comparison with U-he products, it was someone who felt the need to quote Urs putting down the 0-delay filter technology, taken from another thread.
Oh come off it. The very name invites comparison with DIVA, even the logo on the gui is strikingly similar. And did you not write (3 pages before the quote by Arksun about 0 delay filters)?

Q: Will Tone2 Saurus have those fancy 0-delay filters?
A: Yes. We completely redisigned the filters section and were able to create 6 filter types which support true analog modeling with a 0-delay algorithm, nonlinearity, feedback, self-osc, high-precision pitch tracking, low CPU, oversampling, very fast envelopes and aliasfree distortion.
It's a completely new approach to filter modeling which is not used by any other company or product so far. It's a different '0-delay modeling approach' than that one which has been discussed here on kvr a while ago. The main advantage is a much higher performance and a filter which is very precise with pitch tracking.

I think it's pretty obvious which synth you were talking about here. And the quote was from a user, not Urs, and yet just 3 posts down straight away you jump in with the direct reference to u-he. I think it is clear where this started, up until that point nearly all posts were simply attempts to win the prize and congratulations.

And no I am not a "fanboy" - I just dislike this sort of dishonesty and pettiness and the whole thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
+1

Yes. I remember that Max reported it to us. Max is on PC and tested on an AMD system. He has got no Mac. That's why he couldn't know that there is a difference between the PC and the Mac version and assumed that it is a bug.

So, any plans for a proper patch manager?

One user has requested that we add the 'add too favourites' button that we have in ElectraX to Saurus.
If you click on the button the current patch is copied to the 'favourites' category.
I agree with you that it might be difficult to remember every single one of the over 600 patches that Saurus has.
The 'favourites' button is a hot candidtate for a future update. The update will be for free.

Oh there is one there? Guess I must have missed it.

Seriously: look at Predator or *gasp* Diva and Zebra and tell me if you see a difference.

If you click the category, you get a drop down for all the categories.

Then click the patch name and you get the full list of pre-sets :)

If you mean a browser style pre-set manager, then that would be down to Markus if he could do that.

My try would be, because it sounds outstandig... :D
Totally agree. The only problem is that you can't play more than a couple of notes at the same time or the CPU will burn out

Maybe It's time to spend some energy to optimize it instead of posting all day long on competitors threads.

(Am I expressing my opinion? Or am I trolling? According to the Urs fanboys I'm expressing my opinion... maybe I should start to post these comments over and over on the U-he threads...).
Dude... Tone2 made the initial comparison and so invited discussion... and the only reason it goes on is because of the denial of this fact. It is like the politician who gets accused of infidelity and denies it and denies it and it grows bigger and bigger and they are finally forced to admit it and then end up losing far more from the lies than they would have by simply being honest to begin with.

oh, and btw, with the latest Diva beta I am playing nearly all my patches, even polyphonic ones, in Divine mode in realtime...

Nice! Finally you too can appreciate the benefit to play more than one instance :hihi:

(Is it irritating to talk like this? It's just an opinion?)

Yes, that is exactly what I mean. Having to enter Win Explorer is so 90s. :D
