Something about a screw being loose springs to mind.LeVzi wrote:Well it's an Edirol, PCR-M50 which has a bad reputation for keys going dead, but tbh this was the 1st one in 4 years to go on me.zvenx wrote:

But it's 100% fixed now, I saw an article where you just open the case, undo the spring, remove the key(s) and lift up the rubber strip gently, you'll see the two contacts, its like when a sim card goes pear shaped, just use a pencil eraser over the contacts and replace the rubber strip, mine worked fine after that.
Apart from this damn screw... lol

Yes yes, I think you'll find that is the current running joke, but hey, welcome to the partymusikmachine wrote:Something about a screw being loose springs to mind.LeVzi wrote:Well it's an Edirol, PCR-M50 which has a bad reputation for keys going dead, but tbh this was the 1st one in 4 years to go on me.zvenx wrote:

From the usability side would it not be easiest to simply have a continuous swing % selector? Like there is in ElectraX I believe.Markus from Tone2.com wrote:In Saurus you can select from 4 swing types: Off, 25%, 50% and 66%. When you select a different BMP sync rate in the ARP many additional rhythmic styles are possible.braj wrote:Oh and more swing settings (mpc grooves?) For the arp.
From the technical side it would be quite easy to add additonal modes. From the usability side it negative to overload the plugin with too many features which are rarely needed.
Why limit people to 4 swing settings? Seems like a single % control is far more simple and doesn't require the user to find out what the settings mean for swing 1, swing 2 etc.
This restricted swing and the inability to click waveforms and filter types directly on a mac are two factors currently preventing me from purchasing. I'm otherwise on the fence about the sound but like the useability.
Just found a sound that I love though: A Probability BT. Very nice minimal sound. Not sure why it's in pads though.

As for the other stuff I think Markus is looking into how he can implement the click waveform issue.

Sorry, but I don't think that's true. At least not on a Mac. But I don't see why it would be different.D N A wrote: Audio demos created by community (ie. Ingonator) actually show that the quality is actually very nice, or at least some people will happy using Saurus. If you take CPU uage / sound quality into account - you may even like Saurus more than Diva. Why ? Because comparing these two synths is not like comparing 10 % cpu usage to 15 %. It's more like 7 % vs 50 %. And that is a huge difference.
I use DIVA in "Fast" setting, which is one higher than t he lowest "Draft" mode, but fast sounds very good and usually indistinguishable from the higher ones. Monophonic sounds typically register around 8% give or take. Polyphonic sounds typically go up around 20-50%, there is a huge variation. But I do often play pads that sit under 30%.
Saurus can be very light with mono sounds, as low as 5% but often around 7% or so. Playing poly sounds like some pads can result in around 25% quite commonly with saurus, though it's often under 20%. I find ElectraX is actually more cpu efficient than Saurus.
So while the difference in cpu is quite noticeable and DIVA can get absolutely crazy with enough voices, in typical use it's just not quite that bad.
But I agree with your later point that they compliment each other well. The sounds are very different. Who needs another DIVA anyways? The thing is just about perfect. I've been wanting another streamlined straight forward digital/VA vibe sort of synth since selling ElectraX and Saurus might fit, but there are a few things that I'm still unsure about. Still thinking of buying ElectraX again too.

If for some weird reason it bothered me in the slightest, I would surely do so.LeVzi wrote: If you want to move a preset, just goto the installation folder and grab it out of the pads folder and move to leads![]()
Ya. Hopefully he figures it out. Clicking 7 times to get back the waveform right next to the one you're on is a bit of workflow killer. Not really ready for release on the mac side I don' think until then.LeVzi wrote: As for the other stuff I think Markus is looking into how he can implement the click waveform issue.
As for the swing. Hopefully he considers simplifying that to just a percentage parameter. No need to complicate it by having separate settings, also restricts the rhythm heavily.

Here are a few more usability issues I came across...Echoes in the Attic wrote:

You cannot doubleclick a control to return it to default. You have to use the command key which means using 2 hands. Doubleclick doesn't pull my second hand away from my midi keyboard. It's a small thing but I keep noticing it.
You cannot just click on a control to see its numeric value, you actually have to move it to see the value and then you are changing it!
And related... and it is a pet peeve of mine when image trumps function in GUI's... in the little blue screen where the presets are is where the numeric value is displayed. That little blue screen has 4 little 'glowing lights' top and bottom. The bottom right light is overlapping where the numeric value is displayed making it extra hard to read the value!
The lack of midi learn is also a turnoff.

Thanks for that.pdxindy wrote:On Mac in Live... I already know about that, and it worked for the first few days.
It doesn't make any audio, except for the warning...when "first" loading it up, now. That's not even after loading it up for anytime at all.
It worked.
Must be a mac only issue then.

Not again share it!!
Unfortunately, the PayPal transaction for your order 4********5 failed. The
order can therefore not be completed.
Why must you do this everytime? Now i'm stuck between editing the payment information or not. The last time i ordered a license transfer i ends up getting charged despite the email with that confirmation there.

I doubt any of these will be addressed - Tone 2 don't tend to respond much to FR. There's a thread in each of their forums for user requests, some of them dating back years without a single one implemented.
I ended up selling Gladiator due to the shitty monophonic mode - never addressed, terrible preset system - never addressed and crashing in Kore.
The cool stuff- randomization, velocity>filter/amp knobs, copy/paste arp/individual OSC, awesome analogue modes, was then removed from Electrax.
Weird company.

I doubt everything can be implemented, I reckon in any synth once you start messing about too much it can cause cascade problems everywhere.re_mute wrote:pdxindy wrote:Here are a few more usability issues I came across...Echoes in the Attic wrote:
