Is it really a reliable thing? What's the reolution (7-bit or 10-bit)? Does the latency/stability of the MIDI messages really depend only on the MIDI interface? Does the iPad's OS itself have no issues with this?Grain Bastard wrote:An iPad, midi interface and a CCK running Lemur with one of the many DAW controller software would do exactly what you wanted.

I've no idea about the resolution other than you can move the faders etc really precisely!! I do seem to get a crash on the Lemur side when adding new channels from time to time but I'm still trying to make it reproducible before I report it. Lemurs just been updated too so that might fix it but it literally takes 10 seconds to reinstate it all and Cubase doesn't even flinch when it happens. If I wait until I've got all my tracks I need, and I fire it up then, its fine. Only the Cubase Mackie emu file does it, the others like the C121 emu are stable. Latency doesn't factor, its unnoticeable to me and it feeds back the track names etc (the connection communicates both ways, so moving something on the DAW updates the iPad, aswell as the 'normal' iPad to DAW link) so you don't need to look at the DAW screen to tweak.Shy wrote:Is it really a reliable thing? I like the C121 though as you can even save from it and tweak the sends, etc. Eventually I'll adapt something to exactly my needs but atm, its working really well for me along with Automap on my Impulse controller for plugins - Lol, I was even recording the automation sweeping a filter with the impulse the other day while riding a fader AND increasing a send level on a channel!!! Three things at once and I was able to keep my shoes and socks on aswell as I only needed my hands.
No, that Glitch is meant to be there.....
