Dean 'l know.

Make sure you get that into to "arms wide open" right. I hate hearing that muffed......

Post

Are you guys finished yet? Did you use the line 6 "hughes and kettner setting?

HAHA!

I just saw "beyond the lighted stage" so haters gonna hate :hihi:

Post

haha all the secret covers bands I am in have been rumbled (Except my Fall Out Boy tribute band). Yes I always use the Line 6 HkTramp setting

Eric serious about my dislike of Rush/overatted band that I just do not 'get' myself. One or two alright tracks but the whole OTT drumkit stuff that Peart does is a yawn fest and it is just ridulous...Responsible for such other self-idulgence fests like Dream Theatre (again some good tracks but album wise just not that good to my ears/tastes, Live probably worse and draw things out with a solo per band member). I do like some 'prog' rock/metal though but it is definately not a genre I am big into :)

John I shall do so clips/parts of using the loadbox, Did do some at Paul's the other day. As said its good and for the money can not think of anything that I have spent that little on gear wise that has been so impressive/does what it says. I'll ask Paul if he can either send me the clips we did the other day or to post them here himself, I was sat quite literally next to the big bastard Bugera behemoth and absolutely no tranformer 50hz/cycle hum or other unwanted noise.

I think that bottom line the youtube clips that some people have done using thier Frenzel's are not great but that is not exactly a measure of how something actually is for real, As how many other amps plus other pieces of kit have we all heard ruined on youtube? It was a Frenzel Matchless hotbox/AC-type power-stage (HBX-AC15 "Sweet Lil' 15") which I watched/heard a youtube video of (not either of the models you have) which did sound noisy and bad, Here, The cleans sound quite good:
(Part 1)
(Part 2)
(Part 3) - Worst culprit of hearing the before and after the copius amounts of noise reduction applied. The single-coils (I'm guessing) are not helping matters, Microphone placement (done like that won't help either by the looks of things/my experience).
It is like alot of these enthuiastic people that buy something and then do a demo and it i think it could damage potential sales and these halfwits should be banned from making demos, You know? As this is the exact type of model that I would think hibidy would/could be rather quite intrested in as its aiming for the Matchless Hotbox pre-amp/AC-type power stage but with defeatable negative feedback loop in the power-stage, Eric I am sure will be better versed in this amp or its inspiration than I am but man I can hear the potential for it to be a good sounding amp. I am definately blaming user error though and not the gear here like I always do. I think you will agree that it sounds nowt like the clip of your first Frenzel and I really, really doubt your second one (unless you have lost the plot completely!!!).
Decent demo of a Matchless Hotbox, Still abit too wooly for my tastes but overall sound quality is much more like it:
DC30 at a proper volume being driven, Again not my style but it is a really nice lead lead sound:
Some more Matchless DC30-like sounds (Ceriatone Dizzy 30) :
(Part 1)
(Part 2)
(Part 3)
and one for hibidy:

All the best to all as always

Dean :)

wow Dean, really? Like I said I dont care if Paul or you like the amp because I'm not you. You blame user error but maybe it was what the other players were running before it...but tbh I dont give a f**k at all about any of it nor do I give a f**k what you like or anyone else here...you bitch about KvR all the time (and Paul is worse)..congrats Dean for contributing to the negative side.

I haven't lost the plot...in fact I have the plot very well, I live on a fixed income and I tried many other amps in my life and have owned many more. I know what I like and what works for me for me...and then there's the point you never even tried one so spare it because after this post I'm out of this thread. I just dont have time for bullshit like this, I have 5 awesome amps and that's all that matters...not KvR, not what others think of my amps (funny because while Frenzel has been down for some reason and I have found tons of reviews on them and you disguised as Paul (which dude really, really pissed me off) are the only one that posts a negative review. Maybe you should have used your typical tact and politeness when responding instead of the way you did because I'm not very happy about how you did it (again it doesn't matter if you like the amp or not because I do)

I'm so tired of gear snobs, but that's okay because I can make any amp on earth sound fantastic to my ears because I find something good in everything because it's playing guitar I love and even if I cant plug it in I still love playing The guitar.

John, Paul posted as Paul not me posting under Paul's account. The fact I happended to be at his place that day had sod all to do with it. His opinion is his and my opinion is mine. I post as myself.

I did not say anything bad against you the 'losing the plot' part was mean't as compliment as in "Man i have heard you play and it sounds good, I can not imagine your newest amp sounding anything like that"

But take it whatever way you like and spit your dummy out. Whatever

f**k this place

Hink, mods can't lock every thread that there's a brief dispute in, particularly one that's been going this long and has this much information in. It's up to KVR members to bring things back around to civility and an even keel. You guys are up to the job, I think.

Guys, this kind of vitriol is not allowed in the "My next guitar" and "My next amp" threads. We are the leaders here, the ones demonstrating to all the rest of KvR how to run long threads without devolving into product bashing and name calling. It our opportunity - nay, our RESPONSIBILITY - to positively represent the ENTIRE guitar playing community amongst this sea of DJ's and EDM producers. MAN UP!

j/k of course!

Have fun, everyone!

what in the name of f**k?! first of all I just gave my opinion within a contextual conversation about Frenzel amps - I didn't outright say they are shit. then you came back with all this paranoid shit about people posting under different peoples names. you have kept going on and on about these amplifiers so I checked them out and I didn't think they were that good
in fact having read what Dean wrote he wasn't impolite either, the only one who has been impolite (in this thread) has been you - me and dean blasting at each other doesn't count because it wasn't real.
and then requesting to have the topic locked because you can't handle when someone doesn't like something you like? that is really childish. seriously get a grip - it's the internet and since everyone can get on it you're going to run into people who don't like the same things you do, like me and Dean, I like Rush - he thinks they are shit, I don't kick him out of my house when he says as much I just tell him he's a dickhead and things are fine.

I'm bummed

@Dean: Thanks for the bad cat clip. What is that horrible looking guitar he's using though

(humor is important!)

if I misread Dean's post that is my bad and Take responsibility for that as I read it (which I am a flawed human) but that's how I read it. I make mistakes but there is an easy solution...my apologies for all I have destroyed at KvR.

Meffy I am not up to any more jobs except for DIY and that's it, I have been taking shots for 8 years and I'm sick of it and I'm sick of hypocrites...at least when I err I admit...I lost one of my best friends, I lost a sister in law (within literally two minutes of each other (I was reading about Ross whne we got the call about Denise's sister. Now I lost all my good friends

As paul so perfectly pointed out I am the problem

BTW Meffy that should have been sent via PM and not calling me out ion public on it there's a reason I respectfully requested it in a PM...that was out of line...thanks for punctuating the point ;)

That's entirely possible, I tune out whenever Frenzel gets brought up. Kidding! ;)

I mentioned the Tubemeister 18 earlier. Now say hello to its big brother The Tubemeister 36.

SPEC:

All-valve guitar amp head

Three independent channels - Clean, Crunch and Lead

Switchable power output (36, 18, 5, 1 watt and Speaker Off)

Speaker Off mode provides speaker emulation for recording through the RedBox

3-Band EQ for Clean and Crunch channels, as well as Gain and Volume controls

Adjustable reverb

Serial FX Loop

Footswitch connection for channel switching and enabling FX loop and reverb

MIDI-programmable power output switching for changing power output on the fly

3 x 12AX7, 4 x EL84 valves

Tube Safety Control (TSC) auto-biases the amp's valves

1/4" jack input, 1/4" jack output for connecting external speaker cabinet

Balanced XLR output for recording

17.1cm x 44.6cm x 15.2 cm dimensions

7.7kg weight

Its due out in June. Mid switchable & progamable so you could have (if you want) the clean channel set at 36watt & the lead at 18watt.

Here's the best demo video of it so far:

I really like what I'm hearing in the video, everything from crystal clean, classic crunch to high gain metal. I also like how compact they've kept things even with having 3 channels. Only down side is both crunch & lead share the same EQ.
