What about users/customers that already got Curve 1. Will they get a Curve 2 license for free as soon as the Beta is over or do they have to pay an upgrade price?

Ingo
Everyone who purchases Curve 1 or the Cableguys Bundle now, and everyone who has pirchased it after the Curve 2 announcement (Dec 12, 2011) will get the upgrade to Curve 2 for free. All others will have to pay an upgrade price (or win an upgrade in the preset contest).
Thanks for the infos.

Looks like I'm going to fught for the chance to win the upgrade. Will join the deadly preset contest. Must. Be. Strong.

Midi Learn will be very welcome here too :D
Glad you like the Unison mode! And yes, there's quite a bit that we'll do on CPU optimization.

Also adding MIDI learn. First thing we are working on right now is modulation of LFO amount (I must admit that this is quite a basic feature that was still missing).

Some really nice presets are already uploaded in the online library 8)

Plenty of room in there for many more though :D :help:

Beta 2 is up now! Download it here: http://www.cableguys.de/curve-2.html

Beta 2 fixes an issue when wave crossfade was modulated while playing unisono voices and it brings some GUI tweaks and small fixes. The bigger updates (modulation of LFO amount, MIDI mapping, ..) are yet to come.

Just noticed that the Beta1 was timed out, didn't look at and skipped the welcome screen so after that I was puzzeled why there wasn't any sound.. :hihi:

I have now Beta2 installed though :tu:

One more thing.. It's been twice already that I accidentely synced presets too early while my preset wasn't completely finnished yet. But after that I'm unable to remove the preset myself.

Would it perhaps be an option to be able to remove your own preset from the online browser, only within a few hours or so after uploading, to be able to undo such little "accidents"?

I agree - you should have complete control over your presets and should be able to remove them even after they are shared with the community. The problem I see is, that someone already got your preset, likes and uses it - for this user the preset should not disappear I guess. A solution would be: If you delete a preset after uploading (or set it to private), everyone who already got it will keep it, and everyone else will never see it. What do you think?

Hi Jakob,

i just installed the new update and synced the presets. I'll have a look at it ASAP. I am currently working on presets for Saurus but hopefully will find more time for the Curve 2 Beta soon. I also plan to do more presets for it (additionally to those i already added to the database).

Great Ingo, happy to hear that!

You should also try the "Profile" button in the top right corner in the presets browser - it allows you to add some info on you, which will be visible for everyone if they mouse-over your presets. You are welcome to post any news in your info (aka "also check my soundset for Saurus"), and the info will be updated every time a user syncs with the database. We'll also add the option of adding web links soon.

Hi Jakob,

i'll check that new Profile button.
If i would add some info about my other soundbanks it would be the finished one (e.g. Waldorf). With Saurus i have just started 12 days ago but already got around 15-16 presets (not sure if all are in the final selection). originally it was planned to continue doing presets for the Curve 2 Beta at that time but as always something (a new synth in this case) came into the way... :)

Anyway i'm not sure if the profile in Curve 2 is a good place to do advertisement not related to Curve or Cableguys products.

Hi jakob,

Yes, I understand the problem that it would give if someone already uses that preset in a project. Therefore I suggested an option to be able to delete an accidentelly uploaded preset only within an hour (or so) after uploading.

Your suggestion is also a good solution, but a more overall 'drastic' one in this case :)

Jakob,

Somehow I find going back and forth from the browser to the main GUI window (Edit mode) a little tedius when going through a lot of presets. That is of course because the browser and main GUI are "hidden" behind each other instead of both viewable at the same time. I understand that this has to do with screenspace. But still I feel the current browsing and switching could be a little faster and more convenient somehow. It's a workflow thing :)

Could it perhaps be an option to imidiately go to the operational (Edit mode) GUI window when double clicking a preset from the browser (and 1 click for just selecting the preset)? And perhaps when double clicking on an empty part of the main GUI go right back to the browser window?

Hmm that might not be super-intuitive. But what about "previous"- and "next"-buttons, would they do the trick for you?

I've also added a feature wish on removing presets, so everyone who finds this idea important can vote for it:

Ahh yes, that's even better. Why didn't I think of that  Good idea, just voted for it!

Hello everybody.
About the "remove presets" option, I think that Jakob's solution is a good one (those who never synced the removed presets will never get them, those who synced them before will keep them available). An even more complete feature would be that, for those who happen to have a removed preset in their library, on further syncing a message appear to warn about the presence of removed presets and list them (with their rating), and let the user choose whether to keep them or delete them.
This would allow each user to "slim" down the library a bit in case of removed presets. To recognize important presets, each user colud just rate them personally to tell them apart from unused/not-previously-tested presets.
Of course in this case if a certain user decides to keep some removed presets in his/her libray, a message about the presence of those removed presets would appear on each further sync... would that be annoying? Then maybe an option of the kind "don't ask again" could be selectable when aked about removing presets.
What do you think about it?
