I use the audio 2 DJ with ableton and my laptop regularly.

Just plug it in, select the driver in your DAW, and connect the outputs to your mixer.
Might try that then saves buying one. I use traktor with hid mode on CDJs anyways so I can leave it there constantly

Well when u said your kidding right? It sounded like there is no way you can use this other than for traktor
I said "you're kidding" because you were asking for advice about buying your first audio interface when you already own a top quality one, which has all the features you requested, plus a load more.

A passive switch maybe: http://www.smproaudio.com/index.php/en/ ... /nanopatch
Will the Nano patch work for me as I will need 4 inputs as I will be using the pc and the mac.

Wouldn't I need the M-Patch 2 or the M-Patch v2

You say 4 inputs, but that's basically two stereo channels. Even the simpliest switch will do.

I don't think you really need it. Your Xenyx-502 mixer can serve the same purpose. If you have no complaints regarding it's quality that is...

I just thought as it was cheap it would lose some audio quality when it went through the mixer but if it doesn't then it will be perfect

If a passive switch is well built, it will behave the same as unplugging one and plugging in the other. So no loss of quality. No components other than the switch means no signal quality lost.

In a mixer there's always electronic components inbetween. So there's a chance you get less dynamical range. No such problems in a passive switch.

But as said before: if the mixer suits your purposes well, then don't change it.
