I thought I share this, as I found it very interesting (and I dont know what it means, if anything). While we started in 2000 as a PC only company, released for Mac as well from 2001 or so on, we for years were at 30% Mac, slowly getting up to 50 % and during the past 3 years climbing to 2/3 of our sales being to Mac users. However, this year we see a strong raise (more than 80% Mac in February and now almost 90% in March).
Isnt that somewhat crazy ? Of course one could also put this negative and say we loose our PC users, however, there are only minor differences between PC and Mac in our products, and that usually in advantage to PC users (all products are 64 bit for PC in example).
Thank you to all you Mac AND PC guys, you keep us going
Peter

Really surprising, it could be the combination of several things. Maybe you could do a survey among your registered users about why they chose Mac or PC, how long have they been producing music with a computer, if they are professionals or not and if they are using desktop or laptop computers.
For example, you could find a lot of people that are begining to produce electronic music and prefer laptops for live gigs. There is more difference in quality between Apple/PC laptops than desktops. And people want the logo too. And maybe they expect some kind of iPad integration in the future...
And don't forget piracy (sigh...)

I played my part in this. I'm a PC user and I never purchased your software.

Even if the piano player can't play, keep the party going.

I can think of 2 reasons (or a various weighted combination thereof) for this:
* Mac users buy anything at least halfway functional they may get, becasue there is such a lack of MAC audio software
* For PC users, LinPlug products are below average.
No - no flamewar intended. "Below average" doesn't necessarily mean "bad", but it may mean that you do not have priority in purchasing them. Yes, I know both worlds, yes, I think in PC world there is more to choose from. And definitely yes, while I am a LinPlug customer, the VSTs I have from LinPlug are more of an "nice to have addendum" compared to the (many many) other VSTs I have.

Albino 3 - below average
Don't talk wet!
Peter - I use both PC and Mac for music. The Mac is always my main machine for music. The PC is only there (as a slave) to run software that cannot run on a Mac (such as z3ta). Given the choice, for music production, I would take the Mac software first.

iirc, I don't believe Microsoft even includes Songsmith with Windows PCs.

Personally, previously being an anti-Mac guy myself, it's the iPhone that initially broke down my resistance and the latest OSX that finally won me over. My mixdown DAW is still a PC for financial reasons but I love using my MacBook Air as my writing machine.

Yeah - well I have the new iPad too. I am not anti-Apple or of any similar ideology.
And as for Albino - yes, that VST is good, but actually that one I do not count exactly as LinPlug VST, for me that is a Rob Papen VST.
But hey - that was just my opinion.
And Peter: If you need more explanations, just be concrete and ask for details.
