As the topic suggests, we (Impact Soundworks) are looking for an expert in the SFZ format to help us convert our range of Kontakt libraries to SFZ. Most of our material is fairly straightforward, utilizing velocity layers, round robin groups, modwheel x-fading, and filter->velocity (sometimes). A few do use Kontakt scripting, and in those cases, a bit of creativity would be needed to try and reproduce the same effects, or simply create patches that excise the sounds used only via scripting (for example, legato transitions would not be needed.)
This is a paid contract gig. Please email admin@impactsoundworks.com and tell us about yourself. Please include info such as:
* Familiarity with Impact Soundworks libraries (if any)
* Samplers owned (eg. Kontakt, and which version)
* Portfolio of previous work, if any, translating to or constructing in SFZ format
* Ballpark fee you would want for conversion work
* Anything else you might find relevant
Please note, the use of tools such as Constructor or Translator by Chicken Systems is absolutely fine, as long as the end result is fully-functional and usable. Automated conversions usually provide a serviceable but not perfect result.

I'm going to bump this thread every hour to make sure it gets noticed.
In all honesty, a better title, one that would attract more attention, would be:
Shreddage Goes SFZ !!!
Maybe I'll make a post in the Samples forum with a link to this thread, to attract more attention.

Good decision ! Call to others librarians ...
I'm not enough gifted for that work, but maybe the guy who made the Salamander piano could be interested.

I would be jumping on getting this if I weren't sinking under university work as it is.
A great move -- badly timed (:hihi: for me

LV2 1.0.0 - the free and open plugin format has recently been released after years of development
http://lv2plug.in/trac/
This landmark in free music tech combined with the greatly anticipated, shortly upcoming releases of OpenOctave and Ardour 3 DAWs all point to 2012 being a breakthrough year for those interested in free and open source music creation.
Sample libraries available as SFZ are easily used under the open source DAWs via Linuxsampler unlike Kontact libraries so although I don't have any significant experience with converting large sample libraries like this and so can't really help I am certainly keen to see more of this happening for the good of both Linux/ Free audio and the health of the wider sampler software and sample markets.
Thanks for supporting open standards!
