Yeah, this one belongs to Mic "Moogulator" Irmer and I had a chance to play it some time ago at a synth meeting. I think it sounds great!

But back to topic: to compensate for the absence from Musikmesse, there are plans to do public demos in several german cities before the MiniBrute finally arrives.

I'd kind of decided against this thing, even though it's looking like it may be a winner, but I got a killer deal on an ATC-x and now there's a bit of money on the budget... this could be a nice addition to my little collection.

The Minibrute is a completely different sound from your ATC's and Little Phatty. I'm guessing that ATC+Minibrute will be a killer little setup.

If only it had a bigger keyboard...that was a weird move imo.

Well, it's sort of their take on an SH-101, so...

They don't.
Thanks.

Pity. Could have been a really nice laptop controller keyboard. What I want is a combination of the minitaur and the minibrute: the minibrute's sound & keyboard + the minitaur's modern control system & presets (and while I'm fantasising, for at least velocity and the modwheel to be available as CV sources, too). Perhaps Arturia will release a deluxe minibrute some day...

A 61 Key PolyBrute (6 voice) with full Midi CC control over USB, patch recall and a semimodular patch bay :D

I actually wish the opposite: Please Arturia make a version of minibrute that has no keyboard at all.

I think it sounds great and the sound design possibilities are great for a small monosynth.

However I decided not to buy it. I don't like that it has a keyboard (too many of those around here already) and there is no way to save patches, even with an possible third party editor.
Too oldschool for me nowadays. I think Moog got those parts right with the Minitaur (although a very different sounding synth).

But I think the Minibrute might be great for those that do livegigs or don't mind that it has no patch memory.

I think maybe you missed the point.

The minibrute does sound pretty decent but in my opinion pretty overpriced. People get suckered in by all the knobs and faders thinking that you can't have analogue without the knobs.

Personally, if I were looking at an entry level analogue synth, I'd be going to for the DSI mopho because it has no keys or knobs which means that it is much smaller and you're paying for the sound - not for all the hardware bits and pieces that Arturia have to source to beef the case out to the bloated thing that it is.

If you're willing to fork out a bit more, the DSI Tetra would open up far more possibilities the minibrute.

The minibrute has been carefully marketted to catch those people who are salivating over vintage analog (it even looks vintage) and will pay anything to get a piece of the action.

Just be careful when buying a synth like this. It's pretty basic and there are far more options out there that won't take up as much space or cost as much.

Lastly, if you have a digital midi keyboard, why do you really need another one?

The Minibrute can make sounds that no other analog synth in existence can make. Period.
