GMoneh, by stilted I meant stiff, not quite natural (so, not a good thing, generally, but not a terrible one). Not sure if that's what Mister Natural meant.

OK, here are my reviews. Sorry if they're brief but I have limited time right now and wanted to be sure I listened to them all (although right now there's one I can't listen to)
RuediRena - Not really sure how to comment on this
spirulence - I like this, and the harmonica part really drives it along, and the organ really works well in the background
Emerald Tablet - Chilled out 80s feel to it
nikp2000 - I kind of almost get a country feel from this
Knockman - Sounds like you greased the edges of the time limit to make all of this stuff fit in. Late 70s post-punk!
pljones - Sounded like the intro to a much longer Tangerine Dream track. You should put more work into this to make it longer
evo2solo - Rocking piece with a big wall of sound
DrApostropheX - Sad ending
shrikant - Interesting melting pot
Daniel Pompougnac - Good piano piece (better structured than my piano noodlings...
)
forw - Sounded like the theme music for one of those not so well known sci-fi shows that got a cult following over the years
Mister Natural - Progresses really well over the limited time
slartibartfast - Kind of wished this had gone somewhere as it seemed over before it reached where it was going
Laguna Rising - Sounds like my drive to work
beanpole - Good piece of songwriting here, especially with the time limit
peppy197 - Ominous sounding
GMoneh - A foot tapper number
farlukar - Got to call out the bass on this like someone else did (pages back somewhere). Good stuff
Patrick9 - Good use of the time limit to structure something within it
SJMmusic - Sounds like it would fit well in some kind of military game play
D.H. Miltz - Always like to hear some reversed guitar
kryptonaut - Funky keep fit spandex music
lowcloud - Ambient sort of feel to it
Cheeso - Had to listen to this twice to be sure
1-2-Many - Wouldn't be out of place on David Bowie's first (his REAL first) album
inboxzero - You certainly did get to the point here
offthewall - Good piece of guitar playing here
SLD Music - Nice vocal
Bjulin - Interesting changes in this piece
IrionDaRonin - Sorry, at work and the hosting site is blocked so I can't play it
liqih - Got my attention
bzur - Well rounded bottom (if you know what I mean...)
mellotronaut - I like the almost off kilter sound of this
Peterhud - Couldn't help but think of Zappa while I listened to this
Doc Jon - Love the lyrics to this!

Thanks, robojam.
To all: please remember the naming convention and the bit rate/quality setting limit. If you've forgotten one or both of these, you don't need to re-up with a corrected file (though you can; if you decide to, please let me know first), but try to keep them in mind for next time.

Thanks... although that adds yet another band to my "must listen to" list.robojam wrote:pljones - Sounded like the intro to a much longer Tangerine Dream track. You should put more work into this to make it longer

Sorry it was short, but I had to try to get through them all in a very short time and didn't want to pull them to pieces with re-listens - I'd rather just give my first thought without analyzing.shrikant wrote:Thanks for the review.robojam

They went through phases though, but what I meant was the earlier period when there was a lot of organ playing and very basic sound generators. Something like the 72-75 periodpljones wrote:Thanks... although that adds yet another band to my "must listen to" list.robojam wrote:pljones - Sounded like the intro to a much longer Tangerine Dream track. Odd considering that the 2 minute time limit in place for such a long time was apparently too short for many contest participants.Laguna Rising wrote:A good number of entries this month
Maybe music needs to be either very brief or very self indulgent...

After giving some of the entries a brief listen (I know...that sounds rather obvious giving the song lengths), it's going to be hard to pick out a top 10.
Also..................
Are there any spoilers as to what the theme will be for next month?
