Fortunately for me, I've no interest in either dictatorial power or girls, LOL.

For me, Omnisphere has been worth it just for the vintage synth samples alone. The Jupiter 8 strings and pads are gorgeous and when I use some of the Prophet VS sources, it's almost like having my VS back (it's been gone for almost two decades but I still think of it fondly sometimes). The VS, of course, could not run its waveforms through dual multimode filters pulsating away under control of a tempo-synced multisegment envelope that is itself groove locked to a virtual beatbox (i.e. RMX). 8)
Excited!

I've always been a "preset" guy. I find a workable preset, make a couple of tweaks.....

Anyways, I've started exploring synthesis a little more lately. Just using trilian with some basic waves can be incredible! To me, sounds far better than "cough" some other synths with the basics.

I'm quite late but congrats! That's my next investment ( with great returns :hihi: ). I just need a new laptop though.
Don't forget to report your experience with it. I need motivation for ... $$$

1) High cpu/ram on certain patches
2) Closed system with only two (jawdropping good, though) expansion libraries
Besides Bob Moog, what's the other expansion? :?

Maybe he's thinking of New Orleans Strut? But that wasn't for Omnisphere...

^^It's only Tue night here :hihi:

It left Spark, NV at 7:30pm so it's probably just about in my area (unless there was a traffic issue over the Sierra)

Confident for a delivery tomorrow, but they DO have a tendency to deliver pretty late :( ( like 5/6pm)

Yep, after ALL THIS TIME, I'm finally actually seriously considering it. I hope you were sitting when you saw me post this :hihi:

I know it's huge (no problem) I'm not worried about the CPU (I use reaper) and I've got a groove3 pass so I can easily learn it. I don't care that it is expensive*. So these things are not important, no reason to carry on about them :P

Is there anything that drives people nuts with it or anything that is not "in the know"?

EDIT * I lied, 500 bucks is ALLOT OF MONEY for a synth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great synth! only one you really need, as far as i can see/hear. of course, trillian is a great addition. i have all three spec's. i do all my 'serious' synth work with these. nothing to drive you 'nuts'...well, maybe the vast number of parameters and the interface, which takes time to learn.

I guess he means Trilian.

K, with 50 GIGA BYTES of stuff, I'm not looking for an expansion soon :D :hihi:

I love the "intro" vid where it specifically states it takes "hours" to install.

That's not a con, that's a 'property'. Alternatives enough - see NI Kontakt e.g.

Just know, hibidy that I'll be more than happy to take that off your hands if you don't like it :D
After installing Komplete, I'll NEVER complain about how long it takes to install anything ever again!
