Just curious if Ken or any of the beta-testers can give those of us who didn't pre-purchase an update on where things are with this product's development and roll-out?

It's coming along nicely. A truely amazing bit of kit. And considering i'm not actually up to speed on guitars etc, I just wanted an AMP sim that gives me what I want, combined with guitar samples, head case is unreal. Its so much more than just an amp sim, i'd get in on it if I was you.

as a beta tester I can assure you it's coming along and amazing. Headcase Lite demo will be offered as a free download very shortly and will be released at guitarampmodeling for everyone to test out and ENJOY!
Now the proud owner of an avid 11 Rack, Running Pro Tools 10.3.3 - for me it's heaven!

Headcase lite = same quality, less features:
"It will be Head Case Lite which includes the builder and the suite. Head case lite only allows you to have 5 installed heads, and 5 custom heads, but the installation does not include any. Instead, we will also have a list of heads here that you can install into it. IOW, you choose what heads you want to install. there is no limit othert than 5, but you can uninstall one if you don't like it, and install a different one.." -Ken McLaren

Headcase rules, period. It has been a long time coming but the latest version is nothing short of amazing. Just test it when the lite-version comes out. And then buy the full version

Thanks for the update. I didn't pull the trigger on the pre-purchase because frankly I don't know if the computer I'm using for recording will support it. I will definitely download Head Case Lite when it's released and give it a whirl.

I don't find head case a strain on resources here tbh, so yeah definately jump on the lite version. You will love it

Timely question, I've also long since bought the beta but haven't heard much after that. Their web/client interface could be better, but I guess all the focus is in doing the right work as they obviously care a lot and it is an awesome product.

I've got a hamster on a treadmill driving my CPU, so required processor speed is always a concern.LeVzi wrote:I don't find head case a strain on resources here...
(Yes - I know I need a new computer, but braces for my youngest, car insurance for my 16 year old son and college tuition for my daughter are obstacles to that prospect at this time).

That's cool, definately try the lite beta out, I dont think it will strain your system much if at all, even an old one.
I dunno about the full head case when it's got all guns blazing, maybe, I don't have any facts or figures here tbh, maybe Ken could help you out in that respect, drop him an email.
He hasn't been well which is why things slowed down. But I think you'd have to strap him to an atom bomb to stop him finishing this amazing project tbh.

Will it be 64-bit?

Not in the first release. It is a planned feature. Right now, Ken is under so much stress because he wants to get this thing out the door for people who have been waiting so long for it. I got in on the beta deal (REALLY GLAD I DID!), but haven't had much time to be heavily involved in all of the testing--I've mostly just lurked in the forums to keep up with the development.Gonga wrote:Will it be 64-bit?

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

That's really my only involvement was to test it via jbridge, as I know next to nothing about guitar amps, I am pretty reliant on guidance. It does bridge fine with jbridge on a windows system, and well the sound quality speaks for itself.audiojunkie wrote:Not in the first release. It is a planned feature. I've been running one of the earlier betas without any problems on it for quite a while.
I'd be willing to bet that the program bridges easily, and will help hold things off until true 64-bit development has happened.

Guitar players/amp enthusiasts are going to love it in a major way. Ken has made something special here

Could someone tell me what I'm even supposed to download? Last time I downloaded the beta it was called Head Case 1.01 DEMO R1 but now there are lite versions and bulder version etc. Is there one rar file I can download or ? I got in on the beta version so long ago I forgot about Head Case until this thread popped up.
