I am sorry for your loss Simon. I was a fan since I bought my first record in the 1970's. A true pioneer, as are you my friend.Sampleconstruct wrote:Thank you - yeah good old Charly might be listening occasionally wherever he is right nowantoyne wrote:Sampleconstruct wrote:Thank's for the reccomendation guys! Very nice presets, Simon. I have just realized that you are the son of legendary Karlheinz Stockhausen, which might explain a little bit why you are so talented... Keep doing the (very) good job!

The More I receive your Iris patches, the more I get inspiredSampleconstruct wrote:The more time I spend with Iris the more I love her, here is a new one - Ethereal Bell Scape:

I'll jam with a tabla and a sax player next week, and will take "my" Iris with, to spread this beauty around....

Thank's so much for that - a little grass has grown over it by now, we all die sometime and he lived a fulfilled live. When composing and sounddesigning I can sometimes feel him sitting on my left shoulder, smilingGonga wrote:I am sorry for your loss Simon. I was a fan since I bought my first record in the 1970's. Thank you Matteo, that should be a great combo! Try doing some live-sampling and then drag and drop the stuff into Iris and manipulate the spectrals of the sax and tabla in real time, that should be great stuff!matteogk wrote:The More I receive your Iris patches, the more I get inspiredSampleconstruct wrote:The more time I spend with Iris the more I love her, here is a new one - Ethereal Bell Scape:

Me too - the first electronic music album (about the same time as yourself) I ever bought was his piece Kontakte. Karlheinz Stockhausen and Luciano Berio were my two biggest influences in electronic music at that time.Gonga wrote:I am sorry for your loss Simon. Hi folks!
Just thought I would drop in to do a shameless plug on this plugin (which by the way is awesome!).
We have recently done a video tutorial on this ground breaking synth from iZotope.
Course Description
This e-learning course introduces you to iZotope's latest synth offering, Iris. Iris is easy to learn, fun to use and immensely powerful. Originally written for sound-design applications, it has an amazing array of classic synth sounds and musical textures. Plus a huge collection of high quality samples and this video shows you how to get all of it under your hands quickly.
The course begins with fundamentals and concepts such as:
How to set up and configure Iris
How the Spectrograph works and how to use it to its fullest potential.
The Iris synth engine and sonic architecture
Course Objectives
Upon completing this course, the viewer will be able to use all of the tools in Iris, program complex evolving pads or unique synth leads from scratch; and take full advantage of the fantastic factory content.

ok, I caved in.
I bought Iris, with the 2 soundpacks to boot.
I hop iZotope cuts you a commission.
Not to mention +1 for the timestretching feature, if possible.
have to dive in... hope the start/end points are LFO controllable? just a random thought of another desired feature.

One more feature request: the ability to change the color(s) of the waveform.

I see a lot of feature requests for Iris and am tempted to go for it but don't want to invest without some sense of how likely some of the upgrades will be. Is there a forum or news feed where iZotope has posted responses to the FRs or has given any indication that Iris will be getting some of the cool features mentioned here? I know even if they say they have plans its still vaporware until it actually happens but I's still like to hear it from them.
