I use Audio Hijack Pro to capture audio from any other app on my system... always worked well for me. Assuming that's the kind of functionality you're looking for?

It's not a plugin though is it? Will it record from a host like Kore and Studio One?

Mainly to capture audio from plugins in hosts that don't have direct audio recording from plugins

But it's also a useful Editor but sadly development seems to have stopped and it's still stuck at 32 bit and only Windows

i see, thought it was being used like a sampler.

I use audio hijack pro as well. great app, you can use it to record anything you hear on your computer. it's like $30. if you don't want to spend the money, there is a way to do it with Soundflower (free), but you'd have to Google that. pretty sure there are a few editor freebies out there as well (although I have Logic so just use that).

Reaktor has this ability if you have it. I think the OP is not after the WireTap/AHP thing- it's for recording in Kore. I also would like this for Mac as the Reaktor solution is a bit clumsy.

can you do the soundflower rewiring thing? over at the Logic Pro Help forums I have seen threads where people have sent the audio from various standalone apps into Logic.

You could probably still use AHP for this. Haven't tried it, but I imagine you can set the input for Kore (or whatever) and then just play along to whatever you want to record a part for, then drag the audio into your daw. Not the most elegant workaround as you'll have to line it up by hand, but could work. They have a demo.
