Just emailed PSP support but seems developer of Nitro is away for a while so I'm posting here to see if anyone can help in the mean time.
I'll directly paste my email to PSP in regards to Nitro not activating on my machine properly.

Unable to acvitate, when I launch Live 8 on Windows 7, activation box for Nitro pops up when live scans VST folder. I go to enter my activation key from user area on PSP website but every character I type comes out 4 times - even if I copy and paste it.
As such I cannot input the correct activation key. I also cannot activate via the authorisation file from the user area as the link is 404 missing...
Please can you assist?
Windows 7 is 64bit but live and nitro are 32bit - have no problem on previous XP32

Check permissions when launching live.
Basically your are running a program that wants to register itsef with Windows, so you need to run Live with Admin Rights.
Also if you dont have the reg file for PSP it wont work, As I recall you dont enter user name/serial. So you need the reg file to be imported to your registry.
Sounds like a support issue if links are missing from your PSP account.

I always used to activate it with my user and serial with zero probs before.
There is a "easy activator" in the user area of PSP site but that's the one that has the link missing.

I don't have any experience with Live, but Nitro has not been updated, since it has been replaced by N2O and thus works with the old name / serial protection. The .reg file replaced the old method with the N2O 1.0.1 revision.
It's unlikely that you'll get an answer on sunday. The admin rights thing is definitely worth a try.
