Still haven't tried DIVA myself.

I guess it boils down to those who have strived for so long for a synth to accurately behave and sound like the analogue gear that so many people owned and used and now it appears they have it in DIVA.
But for some of us, I am not remotely interested in my gear sounding old or accurate to anything. I like certain things from the older synths such as the Alpha Juno, the 303 or the JP series, but I can get those sounds from plenty of other options.
But I am genuinely pleased for all those who've found the holy grail in Soft Synth emulations of Analogue gear.
But I think some are just gonna have to accept that for the majority of EDM producers around, it really isn't that much of a big deal.

I think the majority of EDM producers will get wet ears when they hear Arksun's demos:

Yes but plenty are. And considering this was supposed to be a thread for those who do NOT like DIVA, it's quite funny how many of them got 101 reasons why their dislike of it was wrong !braj wrote:Not everyone is an EDM producer
A little objectivity wouldn't go amiss at times.

You should probably listen to your own adviceLeVzi wrote:A little objectivity wouldn't go amiss at times.braj wrote:Not everyone is an EDM producer
(well opinions aren't really objective are they?)

Well, there's the rub. Neither am I. What astounds me about Diva is the sheer sound itself. Getting non-technical here, cause tech bores me: it's alive, throbbingly, achingly, gloriously alive with lots of little details. It grinds, bubbles and shines like a real instrument. It's 3D to every other VAs 2D. I couldn't care less about how close this gets to the originals, I only care about that vibrant sound.LeVzi wrote:I guess it boils down to those who have strived for so long for a synth to accurately behave and sound like the analogue gear that so many people owned and used and now it appears they have it in DIVA.

I know Arksun is a great sound designer, but that's nothing new, and nothing that cannot be achieved in other synths.Urs wrote:I think the majority of EDM producers will get wet ears when they hear Arksun's demos:

But I am speaking strictly as a producer, nothing to do with my business elsewhere regardless of what you may think. Believe that or not, it's not my problem.braj wrote:You should probably listen to your own adviceLeVzi wrote:A little objectivity wouldn't go amiss at times.braj wrote:Not everyone is an EDM producervested interests don't really make for objective opinions.

And don't get me wrong, I am not saying DIVA is shyte, i'd be a fool to do so, even my ears can hear it's quality, but it's not any major game changer in certain areas, but it maybe in others.

I don't care if it sounds like an analog synth or like a squirrel dancing to Billy Idol as long as it sounds good. And it does

It;s nice to have 'familiar' sounds back, but separate and apart its the sound of Diva that entices me.

But I have to agree with LeVzi. If you are into trance/dubstep/insertpopulargenreoftheweekhere and more "classic" EDM in general there are plenty of other options available
Most of the classic tracks in these genres were produced on very early VAs which certainly didn't have Divas shiny tech.
Cheers

Yeah one day you may have plugins that are trying to emulate the sound of VA's from 2003
I like Diva for Diva, but I also like havingthe workflow from my old Juno back, as well as having the really sweet Jupiter and Moog sounds I couldn't afford then. But I'm getting admittedly a wee bit nostalgic.
