So, Diva "SORT OF" covers things like:
- Juno 1 & 2
- Juno 60
- Jupiter 6 & 8
- MiniMoog
- PolyMooog?
- MS-10 & 20
What would be a good set of sounds for the NEXT "combo/hybrid-synth"?

Instead of a filter it'll have a ninja called dave who does karate with your harmonics, and the LFO's will be controlled by gangsters. Instead of oscillators there's a giant robot who creates pitched flatulence under MIDI control, and stomps on buildings and crushes cars to create a noise source.
Naturally, all of this stuff would be physically modelled, in a 4x4 mile large
toroidal universe which is simulated using technology unbeknownst to present day programmers, and it will only run on computers at the turn of the 32nd century.
It comes with a time machine capable of sending and recieving MIDI signals far into the future. One instance of the synth, running in the future, recieves all time-shifted MIDI data from all over history and sends them back to the past. Luckily it's polyphony count is a transfinite number, then!

I doubt that very much tbh, but lets see if you are right.glokraw wrote:It's the instrument(S)<-- forum, not just for your personal favorite![]()
the topic is aimed to discuss sound of 'the NEXT "combo/hybrid-synth?"'
not Diva itself.

ARP? Oberheim? Prophet?

jeez, buncha Wendy-Whiners? Ignore the thread if you don't want to read.
I never surf U-HE forum. I surf where other instruments users, like myself, reside and post. Deal.
Just asking what others would like to see in the next one.
I like the ARP, Obie, Prophet idea, seems doable.
Seems Diva covered some of the best already. Just wondering what is left with unique sound personality.

I was thinking some sort of digital version with wavetables, FM operators, etc may be interesting, but then I don't know that sort of synthesis well and how it would translate to a plugin like Diva. I think Synthmaster kind of already does this sort of thing, no? Just in the UI convention like Diva with a UI that harkens to the originals, and lets you mix and match in an interesting way, I dunno.wwjd wrote:jeez, buncha Wendy-Whiners? For Diva herself, I'd love to see OB and Sequential modules, that would really compliment the package. Maybe some weird ones could be included eventually. In a way this whole concept in Diva is similar to a guitar plugin, where you mix and match heads, cabinets, mics, effects. My PodFarm plugin is like a comprehensive collection of all things guitar, not that I want Diva to be that but in a future plugin from any developer, U-he or whoever, I think that would be interesting.
BTW I never saw this as a Diva thread

I'd still love to have a simple wavetable osc in Diva

That's what I was thinking. Some kind of tasty digital gadgetry to feed into those filters. Maybe an 8-bit single cycle waveform you can draw in, and apply a few simple transforms to. Bonus points for authentic vintage digital artifactsBronto Scorpio wrote:I'd still love to have a simple wavetable osc in Diva

An oscillator that can swing from ramp > triangle > saw can make some very delicate tones, but I don't think an analogue synth is really out there that does that (though oddly, there are LFO's that CAN (MS-20... etc) ... I always feel sad when LFO's get more waveshaping options than the actually oscillators you HEAR!). So I don't know how that'd fit into the Diva format.
Also, I'd love to be able to do PWM/symmetry modulation on those DCO waves - especially the combed sub waves.
Another idea - any oscillator model from a synth that has both sync AND ringmod, so I can make windowed sync sweeps. (Either that, or an oscillator model based on a synth that made windowed sync, did this ever happen on an analog synth?).
Phase distortion oscillators.
EDIT: A triangle-core VCO with reversing softsync

If you did, you would find this exact topic in another thread already there.
I'd like to see more modulation targets available for Diva.
Simply put. Modulations of the envelopes.
Velocity on the attack can do good things.
