Well from what I understand in a lot of ways if you have Omnisphere you have basically tried Trilian, just not the particular library. But Trilian, having fewer presets than Omnisphere, probably has a bigger market for new patches I would guess, and really has a lot of untapped potention. It definitely isn't just for bass sounds though that is the majority of the presets that it ships with. I asked Spectrasonics about the possibility of more synth-only presets and they said that was really the focus of Omnisphere more than Trilian (from a business perspective I don't think they want Trilian undercutting Omnisphere in this area, so they don't look to build out its synth presets.)Arksun wrote:Never tried Trilian, but have heard good things about it.braj wrote:I already voted for Omnisphere (which I don't currently own) but I'l like to change that to Trilian, which I think has so much potential for sound design particularly straight-ahead synth sounds (getting away from bass patches). There is a huge collection of sound sources there and a very powerful synth engine which to many is a bit intimidating. I would definitely buy a quality set of Trilian patches myself.
Including interesting arps and well-selected front page controls would be ideal.
Anyhow, I hope you or some other patch programmers consider it, as I really think it is such an untapped resource. I'm not a great sound designer but I've made some nice patches for myself in this way, and someone that understands that powerful engine much better could do a lot with it.
