A list of Core Audio CCK-compatible audio interfaces?

Is anyone maintaining a list of working Core Audio CCK-compatible USB audio interfaces?
And does anyone know what the max I/O resolution of iOS USB Core Audio currently is? Is it 16-bit 48kHz? And is it the same across all iOS devices?
Thanks.

This is probably overkill:
http://developer.apple.com/library/ios/ ... 7-CH10-SW1
It looks like 16-bit 44.1kHz is considered "canonical", whatever that means :S

I know this chart but it's mainly about MIDI, with some audio info thrown in. I'm looking for something like that for audio. Thanks.kpsychedelic wrote:Check out this.

"Canonical" just means its the standard spec, which doesn't mean it can't be outside of that. If it is THE spec, then 24-bit interfaces are somewhat useless to an iOS device. Can anyone confirm that 24-bit recording is impossible on iOS? If true it's also likely that an iOS device will truncate 24-bit digital input to 16 bits.DrApostropheX wrote:This is probably overkill:

An iOS device can handle 24 bits files but can't play it.
Some apps can load these files but they'll be converted to 16 bits.
There is no App capable of 24 bits recording. Ios 5 doesn't allow that.

I creating an update-able list of iOS compatible MIDI and Audio devices on my site: http://www.iosaudio.co/devices
You can add your own devices and update existing devices with specs, etc.
Also you can mark existing devices as "works for me" so we can get idea of how many people are using it.

That's a great initiative, Ted. On the opening page, it would be useful to indicate a fully or partially working status as well as the date AND iOS version tested on. You might want to also indicate the need for a powered hub on the device page.tedbow wrote:I creating an update-able list of iOS compatible MIDI and Audio devices on my site: http://www.iosaudio.co/devices

One thing I notice is that the device page contains a listing of capabilities, but doesn't really confirm whether they are working or not. Some devices work partially and there's no way to indicate that on the opening page or the device page. It would be great to see everything on one big chart for comparison purposes, but I realize that can become quickly unmanageable if there's too many devices. But maybe the main page can be a somewhat more elaborate indication of device capabilities and then refer to the device page for details?
Hopefully this will only have information collected by personal experience, as the information posted on many sites isn't always accurate or complete (especially if dated); that's way the date and iOS version is important.

We've successfully been using StealthPlug http://www.ikmultimedia.com/stealthplug with the upcoming AmpliTube iOS update that has 30-pin support.

Nice! Could you supply the relevant info to Ted's site above? I assume the input must be Hi-Z only, mono and optimized for guitar.Peter - IK Multimedia wrote:We've successfully been using StealthPlug http://www.ikmultimedia.com/stealthplug with the upcoming AmpliTube iOS update that has 30-pin support.
Just curious: are there going to be any deals for iOS addons as there are for the desktop based Amplitude addons?

I have added the ability for users to add usage reports for devices.Breeze wrote: One thing I notice is that the device page contains a listing of capabilities, but doesn't really confirm whether they are working or not..
The device page will list number of people who have mark a device working for audio or midi. Then you can view individual report to see comments and what iOS etc.
