The effect is made of a long series of zeroes and ones, like the others.

Granted. It's a fine line though.
On one hand, I could say nothing and reveal the product when it's ready for sale, Apple-style,
but if I want to start the conversation earlier (perhaps with the idea of soliciting suggestions for better names), I have to be a little scant with details.

Also, and really this is the big point: This plugin is FUN!
There aren't many plugins that can make you actually burst out laughing when auditioning presets...

So, for instance, I could point out that the eight pitchshifting algos are quite serious business, and that the three delay-line models are pretty cool, or that the modulation is quite sophisticated, but it would be missing the point that with a couple of mouse clicks, you can make mad noises. Mad noises.

You /can/ use it to problem-solve; design choruses, flangers, doublers, delays, panners, whatever. And you probably will some of the time.

But I don't think that will give you any insight into just quite how f*cking nuts this thing is. Because you have all those modules, but they all interact. With configurable topology. And make the most mental noises you've ever heard.

point is for me a great and easy gui is also very important

rsp
What if... what if you /could/ use it like Compassion, if you really needed to... but that wasn't the point... and random wiggling of things made you really happy instead?

DaveGamble wrote:In fact, PitchFunk, as a name, is kinda misleading. If I do decide to rename it
I would change the name as

1. It's just kind of a dumb name
Agreed.
and

2. It doesn't fit with the motif you had going with the other names "Equality and Compassion"
Agreed.

Maybe you could name it "Pity"
Disagreed. :P

So, insane mangler that does crazy modulation and makes mad noises. Puns on the theme. Ideas?

Dave.

Sorry, I'm still tweaking things. It's currently only a series of ones. But it's /exactly/ the right number of ones. ;)

So based on that how about volatile, volatility, or uncertainty.

I'm looking forward to this no matter what the name is.

Obscenity...nah, sounds like a stripper's perfume. Then again...nah. Nevermind.

Since my other suggestions weren't really puns how about moderation or modification.

You should keep pitchfunk.

It submiminaly reminds me of pitchfork (music). That's good. People will think it's clever whether it actually is or not.

Thanks, now that I know how many kinds and the types of building blocks (algorithms) the plugin is made of, I know whether to ignore it or expect it. If you want your pre-release announcement to really stand out (and you obviously do) in this field of audio effect plugins which is full of overhyped low quality BS, providing that basic info is mandatory if you have something that's actually outstanding.

Now that I have a good enough basic idea of what this is about (not everyone is unfamiliar with using multiple pitch/delay algorithms and LFOs to modulate them) I went back and read a little more and see that you intend to post samples as well, great. I suggest to post samples that showcase each algorithm separately as well, not just the crazy mangled stuff.

How about Serendipity?

Sounds like lots of happy accidents waiting to be had?

You should rename the thread "New DMGAudio plugin coming soon" since we all agree that PitchFunk is a terrible name... you should really sever all ties with it immediately lol (it sounds like a bad synthedit creation)
Has anybody ever really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?
