Don't be fooled by the size of the library. Some have more GBs but still don't nail the sound. This one does IMHO. Some live players even downsizing it to 300mb to play it live, and it still sounds legit.

Cool to see you here, James! Soniccouture is one of my favorites!

Yeah, I was looking at 1.4GB as being a positive thing. :)

How do people downsize it to 300mb?

Glad you're enjoying it - a tip if you want a small version, you can reduce the number of channels and round robins by using the 'memory management' section on the Options tab.

For a tight Rhodes, load up the EP73 Keyboard instrument, then unload all the microphone & contact mic layers entirely, and switch the line-out channel to 1 layer only. This will leave you with a single round robin layer, full velocity sense, and will be MUCH smaller - probably around 500mb.
You can then save this preset as your own to load up again.

Oh i misunderstood you. But it's still true.
People downsizing it by editing it in Kontakt and only use 3 or 4 velocity layers which is sufficient for live use.
The demos in soundsondemand.com are very short, look for his own website, he put an A/B comparison with the original instrument.

Oh btw, sorry if I'm hijacking the thread. The EP73 also sounds very good from the demos I've heard.

Ok, that settles it.

Anyways, It's too fracking late to buy tonight, but it's worth the gamble tomorrow.

No hijacking from my perspective (and I'm the OP) I'm all about any and all discussions about rhodes and all perspectives :)

Post

Ok. Tell us tomorrow which one you buy, and please put a little review, that would be nice.
Good night!

Hi James,

Is there a way to save that patch with only the samples it uses? I want to keep that patch on my laptop without having to take up space with the entire library.

Some feedback!

I have completely fallen in love with this Rhodes library... Awesome big ups to SonicCouture, great jobs guys !

However, I can only load it in Kontakt player 5, but not in my full/up-to-date version of Kontakt 4... Weird !?

I'd love you guys to do a Vibraphone library - Deep sampled, complemented with dirt, glitches & noise. Like what you've done with EP73 :)

EP73 is a top library... Thanks again !
Computer: Apple iMac Pro & UA Apollo
Hardware: Akai MPC-X, Roland D-05 & MKS--50 (Selling all of these if anyone is intetested)
Software: Bitwig Studio mostly and way too many plugins!

I think it's only K5. I don't remember all the diffs (I have both) but they are not backwards compatible.

Still haven't bought it yet (I have my reasons which have nothing to do with not wanting it btw) but thanks for the heads up...it's just a matter of time :)

+1 with vibes. I still haven't heard a vibe library yet that does it for me.

I would definitely love a good vibes library. I have an old one - Cool Vibes - which was a Gigasampler library never updated to Kontakt for some reason.

If I remember right, there was something about NI only encoding libraries to their current (k5) version.

Hi
yes -just go to the file menu>save as

give it a new name, of course, and there you go. it's saved in the preset library for when you need it.

Great - good to hear that people love it as much as Broken Wurli ( which seems to have become a 'classic product' in just a few months).

Kontakt 5 - yes, it's k5 only. NI have dropped K4 Player, so we had no choice about that. However, it does mean that you get the SSL EQ, and the fantastic new tape sat and Moog filter in EP73, which sound very nice indeed.
