Can you live with a 25-key controller?

No way you can play a lot of songs on it you need aleast 51keys but even then it can be a strugle with some songs. I couldn't use anything less than 61keys for trance type stuff and 80s music.

A 25-key controller is great for effects; I've got my Akai MPK Mini set up for Turnado and Stutter Edit/Artillery/The Finger, plus some drums on the pads. It's also quite nice on the road, or when I'm just working on some patches. I've even done the odd track on it while on holiday, but anything beyond that is a no, definitely not.

With only a 25 keys kb fro every situation, no.
With a 25 minikeys keys one in the train or in the plane yes its great.

I have an Axiom 25 and I love it.
It has a couple of drum pads, with which I can try out beats without the hassle of clicking and looping all the time. When I find something I like, I hit record and drum it in, and one quantize later I've got all I need.
The 25 keys are definitely not enough for extensive piano playing, but for trying out new sounds or adding simple melodies and chord progressions it's just great.
Ever mixing something that's not quite there, when you find yourself wanting to try out a synth pad in the background? Nothing complex, just a couple of accompanying harmonies?
Power switch on + hit it.
It's always at my side and in reach, plus I don't have to clear up the whole table to set up "the big one" when I want to do something trivial.
Could I live without it? Yes.
Would I want to? No.
