Didn't they just recently add SoundCloud support...?hibidy wrote:I wish they would do SOMETHING! Seriously, live needs an injection.Kaboom75 wrote:Think Ableton are still looking for staff that can program in 64bit after some left to work on Bitwig Studio.

Bitwig... Live 9... they will get here when they get here. The only difference between the two is, there is currently a working version of Live that is publicly available (which works quite well for my purposes).
I'm as excited as anyone to see Bitwig released and my enthusiasm isn't diminished because there is no sign of a public beta after the announcement was made months ago. Was an official date ever even mentioned? I hear complaints about hype... I don't see it that way. They released some images and a basic list of features... the community is more guilty of generating needless hype than Bitwig are. Patience is the key here. It's not like the tools available to us at the moment aren't sufficient for making good music.
I may be more excited about the prospect of Live 9 than anyone else but again, I find it's easier to be patient than to get rabid about it. What I hear from folks like Dave Hill is that Ableton want to repair their rep... and the best way to do that is to wait until Live 9 is solid to even mention it. Makes sense to me.

I don't know. I was thinking in larger terms, like x64 so that IF I wanted to use SD, trilian, omni, or whatever I wouldn't have to worry about ramXenakios wrote:Didn't they just recently add SoundCloud support...?hibidy wrote:I wish they would do SOMETHING! Timetable Prediction
First Public Beta: August 2012.
v1.0 : December 2012 (missing basic functions, very CPU hungry, buggy).
V1.5 : July 2013.
v2.0 : December 2013 (usable like Studio One, Cubase, Live and everyone else was in 2010)

My take
Ableton will include most of what bigwig is offering in live 9 (most of it has come from live 9 suggestions)
Ableton will get it out first, cheap upgrade.
Ableton do some kind of ubber offer on live 9, max and suit for new users...
Bitwig dead in the water....
I think bigwigs only hope commercially is to win the race, live users may jump if it's 64 bit and works as advertised if here is no sign of live 9.
